Potter’s Place
Lovely 2-bedroom close to everything, Potter’s Place is the perfect hub for your stay in Vermont. Only 30-40 minutes to Stowe, Bolton, Sugarbush, and plenty of amazing Nordic trails, the space provides a welcoming retreat after a day of skiing, hiking, or biking. If biking is your thing, the apartment backs up to the Cross Vermont Trail, and is a great jumping off point for adventure. The apartment is also a short (10-15 minute) walk to downtown and all the shops on Main and State Street. The apartment is located above Green House Pottery, a working ceramics studio and gallery. The apartment is located on the top two floors of the building, with the kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom on the first floor, and two bedrooms on the second floor. In addition to the two beds upstairs, the living room also features a queen-sized sleeper sofa. The apartment has heating in each room, an electric fireplace, and plenty of blankets, but It can get chilly in the Fall and Winter (and Spring) so we recommend that you bring warm house shoes if you are traveling when the weather is forecasted to be chilly. In addition to the interior stairs leading to the bedroom, please note that you must climb exterior stairs to get to the apartment, as well. We live right up the street, and can be reached any time you need me. You may see me working downstairs in the studio, but otherwise, you will have the place entirely to yourself. We are located in the Barre Street district, with Barr Hill Gin, the Hunger Mountain Coop and Wood belly Pizza all within a 3-5 minute walk from the building. The apartment abuts the bike path (Cross VT Trail), and by following it into town, you can enjoy a leisurely, flat (which is rare In Montpelier!) walk to the Downtown District. There is ample, free, on-street parking all up and down Barre Street, and usually, right outside of the apartment. Parking gets trickier from November - April, when alternate side parking in in effect, and if you are visiting during those times, we have reserved a permitted parking space for you, in a parking lot less than a block from the apartment. I am a potter, and many of the details you will see inside the apartment (including the bathroom floor tiles, the kitchen backsplash tiles, and all of the serving ware) were made by me. These pieces are meant to be handled and enjoyed, so please make yourself comfortable and if you are traveling with kids, don’t worry. Porcelain is surprisingly strong, and meant to be lived with—not tiptoed around.
