Colonial Home Great for Large Groups

Our home is a large colonial farm home located on five picturesque acres and surrounded by hundreds of acres of farm land. Located 20 miles north of the KCI Airport between Kansas City and St. Joseph, MO, one has access to all the attractions and activities in both cities and everywhere in between. Absolutely NO parties or events allowed without owner approval. Weddings at The Journey Home Event Venue cannot be booked via Airbnb. The space The home boasts 16 rooms within its spacious 5,000 square feet including: • 6 bedrooms • a group room • library • dining room • gourmet kitchen • upstairs gathering room • courtyard • and a screened-in porch Open acreage between the home and our barn, allows your imagination to run wild. The grounds offer a large, level area that is as large as a professional football field. With its location being 20 miles north of the Kansas City International Airport it provides the perfect location for out of town guests coming for any occasion. **Use of the barn is not included. **Use of the garage is not included. Guest access It is also close to shopping in Weston, Zona Rosa, Atchison, St. Joseph, and is just 45 minutes from the Plaza. We are close to several state parks, wineries, historical sites, museums, and sports arenas, race tracks, theme parks, and more. For those who want to make the most of their time at the home, you may also cook your own meals in our large kitchen or hire outside caterers. We have two ovens, two stoves, two refrigerators, a dishwasher, microwave, and ample counter space. We have dishes and silverware you may use as well. Free wireless Internet is available. Our mattresses were custom-made by Hawn Bedding in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Sixteen of the beds are extra-long twins and the remaining four beds are unique bunk beds with attached stairs and plenty of storage. The extra-long twin beds can easily be joined to create a larger sleeping area. Take in the fresh air and beautiful scenery that surrounds the home. You will find yourself stepping back into a piece of American history during a simpler time filled with sun-brightened days, warm afternoons in the shade, and natural beauty as far as the eye can see. Whatever the season, the home offers a relaxing and rejuvenating environment. We do have a TV with Roku access for you to login to your subscriptions. We also have a DVD player. We are not fully handicapped accessible. Other things to note 1. A rental agreement is required for all stays and must be signed within 48 hours of booking or reservation will be cancelled. 2.The cropland around our property is NOT ours. We ask that you please stay on our property. 3.There is wood for the fire pit in between the two sheds next to the garage. Please place unused wood back in the pile. 4..Pets are allowed but must be cleaned up after in the yard, leashed, not be on the beds, and kenneled if left alone in the house. 5. The barn is NOT a part of the rental and cannot be accessed. 6. Parties or events of any sort are not permitted without owner approval. Cleaning Expectations: We realize we do charge a cleaning fee, however our house is very large and to keep cleaning costs low we do ask our guests to please complete the following: - Remove used sheets and towels and place in the laundry room. - Take trash to the dumpster. -Wash your dishes (Or start the dish washer and we'll put them away!).
