The space Our Boat House gives you the best of both worlds: Ocean beach and Bay backwaters. Dock your boat right outside the front door. Watch the wildlife from your porch overlooking the bay while listening to the waves washing on the beach, just a short walk down the private path. We are located adjacent to the Don Pedro Nature Preserve and the Florida Blueway Kayak Trail, and we provide kayaks and paddleboards for you to use exploring nearby waters! Guest access Whole house--- front porch and decks in front and back plus outdoor spaces and amenities. Property extends fully from bay dock to beach dunes. Kayaks & paddle board, rowboat, fire pit included. Estate includes outdoor kitchen and dining "Bistro" and a coffee bar (with complimentary coffee) accessible for all guests. Boardwalk from back door to the beach crosses two mangrove lagoons. Other things to note Little Gasparilla Island is a bridge-less barrier island with no cars, stores or restaurants of any kind. It is only accessible by the local water taxi, or by personal or rented boat. This makes for a very private and quiet vacation, but it does require a little more planning. We suggest making your grocery list and ordering ahead of time from a Englewood or Placida grocery store for pick up when you arrive. There is plenty of room on the water taxi for all your belongings and groceries. If you like you can even hire Island Grocery Delivery to pick it up for you at Publix (Cape Haze) or WalMart (Englewood) --- they will put it in the house for your checkin time. You'll dock (or be dropped off by the water taxi) at Dock #2, which is right outside your front door. Dock carts will be waiting near the base of the dock if you'd like to use them to transport your things from the boat to the house (about 75 feet, NO STAIRS!). We live on and love this beautiful island but won’t stick around in the event of a hurricane or Red Tide--and we don’t expect you to either! So, regardless of normal cancellation policies, if hurricane or Red Tide warnings cause you to cancel some or all your stay, we will refund any payments otherwise due to us for the unused portion.
