Description
Ecommodation Momo-no-Yado is an accommodation where you can experience the "gentle eco" life that we, Momo, aim for, where food and energy are produced and consumed locally. We've listed it on Airbnb so you can rent it out! It is a perfect hideaway for couples, families, or small groups! Inside and outside the facility, you can enjoy the wooden buildings built with traditional methods, earthen walls, wood stoves, and walks in the back mountains. * We offer a plan with a satoyama experience and two meals per night on a reservation site other than Airbnb, so please use it if you would like to experience satoyama or satoyama cuisine. This eco-friendly home is located at an altitude of 350 meters at the foot of the nature-rich Zao mountain range. The wonderful hot spring quality of Aone Onsen (we recommend the Jappo-no-Yu bath!) is about a 5-minute drive away You can also enjoy a day trip to bathe there. * Please pay a bathing fee to use the hot spring There are also ski resorts, golf courses, and national parks, so you can enjoy outdoor activities. It is about 45 minutes by car from JR Tohoku Shinkansen Sendai Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. The space This is a wooden house made of natural wood. It combines the best of traditional wooden architecture with modern comforts. It is a cool house in the summer, warm in the winter, and cozy. In addition, throughout the building, we have adopted various measures to reduce the use of electricity and fossil fuels, in line with ancient Japanese traditional technologies and cultures, so I think those who are interested in eco-friendly living will be satisfied. Structural materials prepared in an○ energy-saving process All the building materials used are produced in the mountains where the listing is located. All the processes from cedar forest felling, drying, transportation, sawing, and carving are completed in the same mountain. This process is more energy efficient and less wasteful than the conventional wood drying process. Traditional Japanese earthen walls with excellent○ humidity control and heat retention The raw materials for the mud walls were prepared by using locally sourced clay and rice straw. The mud walls are excellent in humidity control and heat retention, and are cool in summer and warm in winter. By building with resources grown in the local climate, we are able to return them to the soil with as little waste as possible. ○Natural heating and hot water system This building does not have fossil fuel-derived heating. There is a wood boiler and a wood stove. The radiant heat from the wood stove warms the entire room comfortably. All the firewood used is prepared from wood cut from the back of the mountain. The hot water system incorporates a wood boiler and solar water heater. You can use the hot water heated by the sun during the day. Each room is equipped with a hot and cold water radiation panel. You can have a comfortable stay by running well water in the summer and hot water in the winter. By using solar power generation for the power supply, we are increasing the percentage of energy self-sufficiency.
