The cathedral itself, Romanesque and Baroque like so many religious buildings in the region, is impressive, starting with its Portico of Paradise, inspired by the great Portico of Glory of the Compostela cathedral. Vigo (100 km away) The most populous city in Galicia and its industrial engine, Vigo's charms have become popular in recent years due to the display of Christmas lights, and it has always been a tourist reference for the oysters of La Piedra. But in addition to all this, Vigo is a very active and welcoming city in which beach lovers will find some of the best in Galicia (and the competition is very close), such as the famous Samil; archaeological parks such as the underground salt mine in the heart of the city, the remains of a Roman villa in Toralla, and above all the great gastronomic and hotel offer that constitutes the reference of southern Galicia. From Vigo, boats leave for the famous Cíes Islands, a national park with unforgettable beaches (we recommend booking tickets well in advance). Santiago de Compostela (112 km away) Santiago is much more than one of the holy cities, it is an architectural treasure and the setting of a cosmopolitan atmosphere unparalleled in northern Spain. Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims and visitors come throughout the year to enjoy a unique experience. Portugal (90 km) The Portuguese border is just over an hour away by car.
