Historic Victorian Home - downtown Crystal Lake

The “Hale House” is a Historic Queen Anne Victorian home located downtown Crystal Lake, IL. One block from the train line that takes you into the heart of Chicago, and also 1 block from many fun coffee shops, boutiques, and bars. Our home features original woodwork and stunning stained glass windows while also boasting a brand new kitchen and beautifully decorated bedrooms. This is our family home, and income earned from airbnb rentals allows us extra income to continue its restoration process! The space Our home has very flexible sleeping arrangements. The primary bedroom has a king size bed, but also has enough space for a pack-and-play (provided upon request - we actually have two if need be!), or a small blow up mattress as well. The 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed & room for a pack ‘n play (available upon request). The 3rd bedroom has a full size bed, a regular size crib, and lots of fun kids toys. The living room has enough couch space for lots of people, and you could easily sleep two people on them if you want, or we can set up a queen size air mattresses upon request. If you plan to have anyone sleep in the living room, please message us so we can provide enough bedding. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the main areas of the home. There is a totally separate apartment on the back upstairs of the home, which is rented out full time. Guests may use the backyard with firepit, and front porch as well. Other things to note Our old beauty is quirky in some ways! We do our best to note all of its character, however please know our lovely home is over 100 years old, and comes with some 100 yr old quirks like crooked floors and doors that need some persuading to open/shut. Our home is a work in progress - while no work will be happening during your stay, and everything will be clean and tidy, you will encounter rooms and areas that are half way through the restoration process or where restoration has not yet begun. If you are looking for a 100% finished, pristine home, this is not your girl, and we take no offense at you choosing to book elsewhere. Please note this is our family’s actual home. We do reserve what little tiny closet space we have for our stuff while we have guests. We have a large fish tank, with an automatic feeder (so you do not need to do anything but enjoy our weirdly friendly fish!) You staying at our home allows us additional income that goes towards the continued restoration work of our grand old lady! Thank you very much for contributing towards her care and upkeep.
