Welcome to Black Birch Lodge! This spacious cabin/chalet is perfect for group or family trips. We are tucked away on 18 private wooded acres in the northern Catskills. Enjoy nature from our huge backyard or one of the four decks nestled amongst the trees. We're close to skiing, hiking, wedding venues and the quaint towns of Stamford and Roxbury. The space This is the perfect mountain getaway for families and friends alike. Enjoy 20 foot knotty pine ceilings in the great room next to the wood burning stove. Our lodge is two stories with 4 decks and plenty of space for your group to stretch out. The great room shares the main level with three of the bedrooms and one of the bathrooms. During the day enjoy the sun streaming in through the skylights in the great room then cozy up next to the fire at night. The fully stocked kitchen and large dining table (seats 8) are here as well. If you prefer to head outside, the main deck is off the great room. Outside we have two more lounge areas, another large dining table, and a Weber gas grill for you to use and enjoy. Down the hall you will find an expansive king bedroom with an attached bath, a queen bedroom, and a sun-filled king bedroom with two decks and a WFH space. The main level bathroom can be accessed by all bedrooms and has a shower and a huge jacuzzi tub for you to relax in. We also provide a queen-sized air mattress that easily increases the maximum number of guests from 8 to 10. There is room for this air mattress to be inflated in either the primary bedroom or the sunroom on the main level. Head to the lower level and you will find another bedroom with two twin XL beds that can easily be converted to another king and a private en-suite bathroom. Bad weather during your stay or just feel like staying in? No problem! One of the greatest features of our lodge is the huge game room on the lower level. Play darts, bumper pool, or take advantage of our collection of board games or kids games. In the warmer months we love opening the garage door and letting the light pour in while we stream a game on the smart TV. The backyard is full of nature and perfect for exploring or just relaxing. Read a book in the hammock, play a game of corn hole, sit by the fire pit, or go beyond the clearing and hike our private trail through the woods to enjoy our seasonal stream. Guest access The entire property will be yours to enjoy during your stay. Other things to note The lodge is incredibly special to our families and we ask that you treat it with the same respect you would treat your own home. Many of the things in the home are one of a kind and cannot be easily replaced. We keep a running inventory before and after every guest to ensure you will have everything needed during your stay. We realize accidents do happen so if anything is damaged, please notify us immediately. The stairs to the main level are steep so the property might not be suited for those with physical limitations. We do have a baby gate for those of you with little ones. **Our road is a 1/2 mile gradual incline on dirt and gravel. In the winter months, 4 wheel-drive or AWD with either snow tires or chains is required. The road and driveway are plowed but it will be hard packed snow.** We require an additional one time $100 pet cleaning fee for up to 2 pups. 3 pups is our maximum and will cost $200 per trip. If you would like to bring more than 3, please contact us prior to booking. Approval is subject to the size, weight and total number of pups being requested. Sorry, but we do not allow cats at the lodge due to allergies. Please note, if there is evidence of a pet accident, a carpet/furniture cleaning fee will be required and billed to the guest. The property has 2 exterior security cameras. One is facing the driveway and one is facing the front door. This video footage is not shared and is recorded in case of break-ins or violations of the pet or occupancy policies. Please note during the warmer months each of the 4 bedrooms and the main living space will be equipped with window unit AC's. We remove these during the Fall and Winter (and early spring) to help keep the house better insulated.
