This 1600 sq ft 3-bedroom 2 full bath cottage has everything you need to provide the quintessential summer lake vacation experience! It features new luxurious mattresses and bedding, room darkening curtains and closets in all bedrooms, smart TV's, excellent wi-fi, a fully loaded kitchen, blacktop driveway for parking 3 cars plus boats, trailers, or other watercraft, 100' boat dock(*rent/deposit required), a sandy beach, large outdoor patio, gas and charcoal grills, and a variety of other amenities to help you create memories for all ages! For fun beyond the water, spend your days golfing at the public golf course a mile up the road, shopping at numerous unique boutiques in old downtown Shawano, biking on the trails, or tasting your way through the amazing local restaurants. When your "activity" quota is met, return to the cottage, and relax on the 24 x 36 patio! Please note: There are two homes located on this one large property. They are separated by a row of cedar trees. The Olive Tree Cottage is the only home being rented to guests through Airbnb at this time. It is situated approximately 100 feet up a hill behind the Owner’s cottage. (I have included multiple photos to help you visualize this so there are no surprises- See photo descriptions and prior guest reviews). There are wonderful views of the lake from the cottage patio, master bedroom, and of course, from the 50’ wide guest beach. It's a short walk (approx 50 yards) down to the OTC guest beach. The Guest Access section [below] has more information about beach hours and access. There is also a gigantic beach and playground at the County Park which is less than 1/2 mile from the cottage. They have a campground, boat launch, camp store, a concession stand, ice, and ice cream (yum). They also have outdoor church services in the pavilion at the campground every Sunday morning. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket if you go. If you forget anything at home, town is only a 10-minute drive and might be worth exploring. If you are looking to have a little family fun within a 10 minute drive of the cottage, you can visit Dairy Cove in Cecil for hot cheese curds or cool ice-cream treats, pack a blanket and some snacks and head into downtown Shawano for the ski-show on Wednesday nights, or cruise to the edge of town to catch a movie at the drive-in theater! So much fun packed into this tiny little town - especially in the summer! The Olive Tree Cottage is very special to us and we’re hoping it becomes very special to you. We have worked tirelessly to create an atmosphere where people can gather together, enjoy a meal, reconnect with nature, and restore their hope. There's nothing like the late afternoon sun reflecting off of a 6,100-acre lake to remind us to pause and reflect on what the last couple years have taught us is truly MOST important in life: Faith, family, and friends. The cottage was inspired by the Olive Tree Initiative and profits from the rental of this cottage and owner's cottage will go towards funding future initiatives. ************************************************************************************** COTTAGE GUEST BEACH: (designated for Olive Tree Cottage guests only.) Beach "activity" time is from 10am until 6pm daily. Beach chairs, towels, and toys are provided. Swim at your own risk. Beach "quiet" time is from 6pm until 10am daily. Guests are welcome to sit and relax, read, play quietly on the shore, and observe the water and wildlife. Paddleboat and (2)adult/(3)children's kayaks available with deposit. Guests who wish to bring boats should inquire about dock access/slip rental. PUBLIC BEACH: Shawano Lake County Park is located less than 1/2 mile from cottage and has a wonderful large sandy beach, giant playground, boat launch, small camp store, ice cream & concession shop, and many picnic areas. NO GUEST ACCESS: Guests have access to everything in the cottage with the exception of the locked storage closets in the laundry room. Guests are not allowed access to the small green storage building, the garden, or the garage at this time. Owner will supply all linens, blankets, pillows, and towels. Also a starter supply of toilet paper & toweling. Guests must supply their own paper products, laundry detergent, food, drink, and personal items. This cottage resides in a very safe neighborhood patrolled regularly by one of the most awesome police departments in all of northeastern Wisconsin. We want you to have fun and enjoy your time. While here, you are a "neighbor". Please respect your neighbors by following these rules: No smoking in cottage or anywhere on premises. No pets in cottage or anywhere on premises. No fireworks on patio or anywhere on premises. NO illegal activities in cottage or anywhere on premises.
