Add to your wish list The space CHARACTERFUL COTTAGE Woodland Barn is a warm and welcoming Forest of Dean cottage, converted from a 200-year-old stable and hayloft. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS Enjoy wide views across the countryside, River Severn and Severn Valley from the cottage, terrace and hot tub. PRIVATE TERRACE AND HOT TUB French doors open onto a spacious private terrace with outdoor seating, parasol, BBQ and your own eco-conscious hot tub, run using an air-source heat pump. DOG WELCOMIING (not just dog-friendly) Up to 2 dogs are welcome, with an enclosed garden, outdoor tap for muddy paws, towels, bowls, spare leads, sofa blanket, poo bags, toy and holiday ID tags with our contact details. SCENIC WALKS FROM THE DOORSTEP Woodland walks are moments away, making it easy to get outside with the dogs or head out for a Forest of Dean adventure. SLEEPS 4 COMFORTABLY Wwith a king-size en-suite bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with lovely views. TWO BATHROOMS The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room, and there is a separate bathroom with full-size bath, toilet and sink. FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN Ideal for self-catering, with dishwasher, washing machine/condenser dryer, electric oven, induction hob, slow cooker, microwave, fridge with freezer drawer, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. COSY, OPEN-PLAN LIVING SPACE Six steps lead down to the dining and living area, with underfloor heating, corner sofa, cosy chair, reading lamp, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, books and board games. ECO-CONSCIOUS TOUCHES Woodland Barn has an air-source heat pump, solar panels and battery storage. PRIVATE PARKING Parking is available on the driveway, with additional street parking nearby if needed. PLEASE NOTE There are six steps leading down to the bathroom, kitchen and living space. Guest access You’ll have exclusive use of the whole cottage, enclosed garden, private terrace and hot tub during your stay. There are no shared guest spaces. Parking is right outside the property, making it easy to unload and settle in. Self check-in is simple and flexible, with a secure key safe. You can arrive any time after 4pm, and we’ll send clear arrival details before your stay. The hot tub is yours to enjoy throughout your stay. We carry out a quick daily check to keep it clean and safe, and we always aim to do this quietly with minimal disruption. You’ll also have full use of the enclosed garden, outdoor seating area and BBQ space — ideal for dogs, children, relaxed meals or morning coffee with a view. Everything is set up so you can come and go as you please and enjoy Woodland Barn with privacy and comfort. Other things to note Woodland Barn sleeps up to 4 guests and is well suited to couples, families and dog-friendly stays. BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS There is one king-size en-suite bedroom and one twin bedroom. PRIVATE HOT TUB The private hot tub sits on the terrace with wide views across the countryside and towards the River Severn. It’s a lovely spot for quiet mornings, starry evenings or a soak after forest walks and days out exploring. The hot tub is heated using an air-source heat pump. DOG-FRIENDLY STAYS Up to 2 dogs are welcome at no extra charge. The enclosed garden makes it easier to settle in with dogs, and we provide a few thoughtful extras including bowls, blankets and ID Tag and Handmade Tuggie. LIVING SPACE Woodland Barn is a split-level converted stable and hayloft with character, warmth and practical comfort. The open-plan living and dining space has a corner sofa, Smart TV and superfast Wi-Fi for streaming, planning your days out or working remotely if needed. PLEASE NOTE There are 6 steps leading down to the kitchen, bathroom and living area. KITCHEN The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Cookware, utensils, crockery, glassware and other useful basics are provided. OUTDOOR SPACE Outside, you’ll have an enclosed garden, patio and private terrace with outdoor seating, BBQ and views across the Severn Valley. ECO-CONSCIOUS COMFORT Woodland Barn has underfloor heating powered by an air-source heat pump and solar panels with battery. The hot tub also runs off a separate air-source heat pump. We also use sustainable cleaning products and planet-friendlier practices where possible. PARKING AND ACCESS There is private off-road parking directly outside the property on the driveway. Self check-in is available from 4pm using a secure key safe. PLEASE NOTE Woodland Barn is a non-smoking, non-vaping and no e-cigarettes property, both inside and outside. We do not have an E-charger for cars but can supply you with details where you can charge your vehicle locally. LOCATION AND NEARBY PLACES Woodland Barn is peaceful, but still very well placed for easy days out and practical essentials. There are scenic walks from the door with even more with supermarkets around 5 minutes’ drive. There are several dog-friendly pubs in the area within a 5–15 minute drive. You’ll find more woodland walks, pond walks and viewpoints within around 5–20 minutes by car, and many Forest of Dean attractions start from about 10 minutes’ drive from the cottage. Further afield Fancy a change of scene? Gloucester, Cheltenham Spa, Bristol and Cardiff are all around 45–60 minutes away by car, making Wyldwood Cottage a peaceful base for exploring a little further afield. For beach days, Rest Bay is the nearest beach, while Newton Beach in Porthcawl is the nearest dog-friendly beach, around 1 hour 30 minutes’ drive away.
