Our acre of land is completely fenced in, private and peaceful. You'll see quail strolling around, blue jays chatting up the squirrels, and hummingbirds flocking the feeder by the porch where you'll enjoy your morning coffee. “Above the fog and below the snow”. Very private and yet not too far from the main highways. 10 minutes from the quaint mountain cities of Grass Valley and Nevada City, 10 minutes to Empire Mine Historic State Park, just down the mountain from various snow parks, a little over an hour to Boreal skiing, Reno, or King’s Beach on the North shore of Lake Tahoe. Come visit Rivendell for a much prettier, cozier, exclusive destination than any hotel nearby. It's just a couple min. walk to the Happy Apple Kitchen for lunch (they're open for limited hours) and several more to the Chicago Park country store. 1 mile away is a vineyard that has wonderful wine tasting with a view of their vines. Visit Empire Mine Historic State Park: only 7 miles from Rivendell. Self guided tours and trails throughout. Historic Grass Valley has a movie theater, tons of shopping and restaurants with the charm of the old gold rush era still emanating from its storefronts. Just east of that is Nevada City with its famous Victorian Christmas festival that stretches up Broad Street.
