Peaceful seaside property with native style houses. It is the last property on the west side of Tambobo Bay yacht harbor, which provides solitude and plenty of opportunity for relaxation. There is also a marine protected area just steps from front door. Our cabins are native style which provides for cool comfort since there is always a great breeze coming from the ocean. The Tambobo Bay Marine sanctuary is directly in front of the property so it is a short swim or walk to tropical snorkeling (depending on the tide). Guests have access to all native buildings including the kitchen, bedroom/loft and utility shed where the hand water pump is located for emergency water. Usually water is supplied with a pressure pump to all sinks, toilet and washing machine, as long as the power is on (it's the Philippines). We will not be present during your stay but a caretaker will be there from 7:00am to 11:00am Monday through Saturday if you need anything. This adds to the peacefulness of the place. Please request a booking at least 48 hours in advance, as we need to contact our caretaker and make sure she is available to hand over the keys. The best thing about our place is the cool breeze and peace and quiet. It is fully fenced and has a gate so it is like a sanctuary were nobody bothers you. It is also close to restaurants and bars if going out is preferred. There is easy access to Kookoos Nest dive resort just across the bay and excellent food at Tongo Sail Inn just next door, not to mention world famous dive sites at Apo Island and Dauin between Tambobo Bay and Dumaguete. There are plenty of places to hike on the mountain side, even to hot springs! Transportation can be arranged from Dumaguete airport. The best way to get to this property from the airport is to hire a taxi or a personal driver. The cost is usually around 1,500 to 2,000 pesos. The cheaper way to do it is somewhat complicated. You can take a tricycle from the airport to the Ceres bus stop and then head south to Siaton. From Siaton a hubble-hubble driver (phonetic spelling for motorcycle taxi) can take you from Siaton back to Tambobo Bay. If you have luggage, this is not a good option. The house is self contained, but you will need to stock up on supplies before heading down to Tambobo Bay. The best thing would be to stop at the Robinson's mall in Dumaguete to get some food, water, soap and shampoo. There are very basic items available in Bonbonon (the local village up the hill from the Yacht harbor) and again more items in Siaton which is about 15 or 20 minutes driving from Tambobo Bay, including a fresh vegetable and meat market.
