Neighborhood: -Quiet, secluded and peaceful with regular views of wildlife - especially moose! -Most of road from the highway to the house is paved except for the last block. These roads are dirt and can be bumpy. Please go slow. Additional important info: Within a short drive: *Access to National Forest, Montgomery Reservoir, Lincoln Falls, Ice Climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and some of the best snow-shoeing and 4-wheeling in Colorado * Breckenridge - ski, snowboard, snowmobile, fish, boat, golf - 35 minutes * Keystone - ski, snowboard, fishing, raft the Arkansas River - 50 minutes * Copper - ski, snowboard - 50 minutes * Buena Vista - hot springs, raft the Arkansas river, fishing - 50 minutes * Salida - fishing, hiking, jeep trails, rafting - 60 minutes * Denver - shopping, theaters, sports, amusements parks -2 hours * Cripple Creek - gold mining, gambling - 90 minutes * Canon City - Royal Gorge - 90 minutes * Manitou Springs - Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak - 90 minutes Many of well known attractions are just a short day trip away from the home including Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Vail and many more. -Guests have access to the entire house, washer/dryer, and backyard. Exclusions are the garage and small shed. -Front-entry: A private deck entry, with a key-pad self entry for convenience. You will have your own door code. -Back-entry: Private, with sliding glass doors, no keypad. Need to use the front door to enter. I give my guests privacy but am available through Airbnb or by phone if they need me. The quiet, rural neighborhood is ideal for those that want to get away. The cabin is surrounded my lots of trees and mountain views. 4WD or AWD car is highly recommended in winter. Our county roads and driveway are snow plowed if possible but highways can be dangerous. Please consult highway conditions. Our cabin is less than 10 minutes to Fairplay and grocery store. The drive is mostly on paved roads until the last block. We are very easy to get to from the highway. We have plenty of parking in front of our home. Please remember you are staying in a home, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, I will do my best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on-site 24/7. *WINTER INFO & 4WD/AWD We DO REQUIRE 4-wheel drive in the winter months (Nov-April), due to the snow accumulation in the area. The county roads are maintained and plowed along with the driveway. We have a reliable plow service but plowing isn’t immediate. *Elevation and Dry Weather: Fairplay, Colorado sits around 10,000 feet. Black Wolf Cabin is a bit higher than that. If you aren't used to this elevation, please plan to drink lots of water. You will notice your skin may dry out easily. Please bring skin moisturizer to make the stay more comfortable. *Peace, Rural Vacation* The best part of the stay is that you are in a quiet secluded area so you can get back to nature. It is also a short driving distance to some of the best mountains towns. Please always be mindful of wildlife in the area.
