Historical home in the heart of downtown Jayuya
A 20th century home from early 1920's located in downtown Jayuya. The house is located in front of the town's Plaza. It is an antique house which was recently refurbished in its entirety, while preserving the original architectural facade of the house. Jayuya is a small town where you can explore coffee shops & farms, local theme restaurants & bars, ziplines, rivers, and museums. It's surrounded by the highest mountains in PR (Tres Picachos, Cerro Maravilla and Cerro Punta). Other things to note House 30 de Octubre del 1950 was originally built for Doña Ulpiana a well known business owner around the town by mid 30’s . Then it was acquired by two different families. By the 60’s a family from Lares brought the house and established since then. Quiles-Matias family commonly known as Quiles family. They spent their whole life in the town and were well known for being focused in education. At their free time the patriarch, Mr. Quiles, spent his time working the farm, non profit causes and politics. While the Mom, Mrs. Quiles also an English teacher, spent her free time supporting the Catholic movement. The couple passed and the House still belongs to the family. They want to share the simplicity of a country living. Hope you enjoy the stay!
