For a taste of the traditional Corfiot life amongst the locals look no further. A 10 min drive brings you to sandy beaches at Arillas and Ag. George, or for buzzing night life Sidari is nearby. The hosts live in the small apartment underneath the house, so are on hand to tell you all about what there is to see and do on this picturesque island. The space Having passed the little village square where the cafeneion opens in the afternoon for a beer or an ouzo, you may also pass several Greek Yiayias sitting on their front doorsteps enjoying the cool of the shade. Through a small stone alleyway and you have arrived! This traditional Greek house has been recently fully renovated to create the beautiful 2 bedroom property you see today. With care taken to maintain original features and restore old furniture (the kitchen table and chairs!) you will find a fully modernised kitchen and bathroom have been added. The house is flipped, with the open plan living space upstairs to show off the beautiful original floors as well as maximise the utility of the upstairs outdoor veranda, which is the perfect place to relax with a coffee (or a glass of wine) and watch the ferries pass by the Island by sea. On first arrival let us know whether you prefer the privacy of a keybox check-in or somebody to greet you in person for a more personal touch. Once you have the keys to the house, there are doors in through both the ground floor bedrooms as well as the front door accessible from the first floor balcony. The entrance via the garden is shared with the hosts, who work away for much of the summer, but the ground and first floor verandas and hot tub are entirely yours to enjoy. Please always leave the pump running on the hot tub, even if you prefer to have the heat off, as this allows the filters to do their job. For those who prefer indoor bathing there is a choice of a rain shower or a large bathtub inside the well equipped bathroom. Take a moment to admire the vanity unit; this was made from recycled roof timbers during the renovation. Guest access The house is accessible via a wooden gate into the garden, you will walk past the ground floor doors to the bedrooms and take the steps up to the large veranda to find the key box for the front door (unless you have arranged for a host to greet you!). The main house as well as the outdoor spaces are for your enjoyment. There is a small apartment underneath the house where the hosts live. We aim to give you privacy, but you may notice us coming and going occasionally. All doors and windows are fitted with netting for maximum privacy. Occasionally the gardener or host may need to clean and treat the hot tub or cut the grass as part of routine maintenance during your stay. This takes place at a time agreed with you, so as not to inconvenience you. There is a shared laundry room/outdoor WC available on request. Other things to note It is recommended that you have transport of some kind if you would like to visit the nearby beaches, supermarkets or resorts.. Within a 10 minute drive there are several options available.. Recommendations to hire a scooter or car can be made by use on request. Please arrange in advance for this service.
