Description

Tucked on a forest hilltop just outside Kathmandu city, our peaceful earthbag attic home invites deep rest. Enjoy the glass conservatory for meditation or relax on the deck above a lush food forest. Rooted in simplicity, made for stillness, wake to birdsong, sip tea with beautiful views, or wander forest trails nearby. Perfect for slow days, soft silence, and fresh air. Let go, unwind, and recharge. Pickup from Godawari highway available. The space Our earthbag attic home sits quietly on a forested hilltop just outside Kathmandu — a peaceful retreat designed for rest, reflection, and reconnection with nature. Built with natural materials and intention, the house blends traditional Nepali aesthetics with thoughtful comforts. Guests often find themselves drawn to the glass conservatory — a light-filled space ideal for meditation, journaling, or simply enjoying the forest canopy. Just outside, a spacious deck overlooks a maturing food forest where birds, butterflies, and breezes keep you company. It's the perfect spot for sunrise tea or watching mist roll through the valley. Our kitchen is cosy and well-equipped, welcoming anyone who enjoys cooking or simply preparing a comforting meal. We’ve added thoughtful touches to support your cooking rhythm — from sharp knives and sturdy cast iron cookware to essentials like Himalayan pink salt, olive oil, and a variety of spices. You’ll also find a French press and moka pot for your morning coffee ritual, plus Himalayan teas and herbal blends to savor throughout the day. For quieter moments, you can browse our small library filled with an interesting selection of books — perfect for curling up in a cozy nook. The surrounding area offers opportunities for forest bathing, hiking, or cycling along the southern ridge of the valley. And for those craving stillness — this is also a place to simply be. You’re welcome to laze around, nap under a tree, or enjoy the serene natural surroundings. Transportation can be arranged from the nearby Godawari highway to make your arrival smooth and easy. Come as you are — and stay as slow as you like! Guest access Guests are welcome to utilize all areas in the property Other things to note For guests planning to book between December and February, please note that this is winter in Nepal, and the property can feel quite cold for those unaccustomed to colder climates. While we do not have a central heating system, we provide warm blankets, hot water bags, and three small heaters for your comfort. Additionally, there is a small geyser water heater system, which also supplies hot water to the kitchen. However, please be aware that these heating amenities are basic and not luxurious. For guests planning to book between June to September, please note that is monsoon season in Nepal, hence, the road /trails leading to the property can be slushy and slightly slippery. We do have few umbrellas at the property but do have some rain gears, if you plan to visit / hike in the area. Our bedroom is in a top loft with a low zinc roof, so heavy rain can be quite loud. Some guests find this soothing, others may find it noisy. We also have single beds on the ground floor. Rain usually decreases after August.
