This is a place designed for relaxing, unwinding, and making memories. We fell in love with its country charm and know you will too. The upper deck, large, screened porch, fire pit, and patio areas all provide unique gathering areas. The real experience with this property is enjoyed on the outside and you and your guests can spend all day relaxing and exploring the property. It is truly serene and peaceful. With that said, the house itself is comfortable and nicely set to allow everybody their own space. The location is also ideal for visiting downtown Washington DC or Baltimore (about 45 easy minutes drive to each). Downtown Urbana, Maryland is only 5 minutes away for dining and groceries. Downtown Frederick is about 10 minutes away and has plenty of great restaurants, antiquing, and lots to do. The farm has goats, ducks, geese, cats, and horses. There are 2 stocked ponds with large-mouth bass, blue gill, catfish, and crappie. Fishing is allowed without a special permit or MD license, although bass is catch-and-release only. Words cannot describe how nice this property really is. Sleeps 14 easily, and the finished attic can sleep multiple kids. 4 bedrooms Upstairs - 1 room w/ king-size Bed 2 room w / queen-size beds (1 in each room) 1 room w/ 3 twin beds A large finished attic will easily sleep a group of kids Pull out the futon with a queen-size mattress (upstairs) in the common area Plus, we have 2 very nice deep queen-size bean bag mattresses and air mattress that can be set up in the attic or one or both of the front rooms. Fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, generous prep space, and everything needed for hosting family meals. There are also two grills at the house (charcoal and propane) Whether gathering for a family movie night or giving the kids their own space, the home offers two Smart TVs — one in the main living room and one in the attic hideaway designed just for younger guests. Cable access, a DVD player, and strong Wi-Fi throughout the property keep everyone comfortable and connected. Guests enjoy two full baths within the farmhouse, as well as a large outdoor bath and shower set inside the neighboring dairy barn — blending rustic character with memorable comfort. The property also features a seasonal outdoor shower with both hot and cold water — perfect after a day exploring the fields, hiking, or gathering around the fire. The farmhouse is equipped with modern plumbing, updated full-size kitchen appliances, and a full-size washer and dryer for added convenience. Three wood stoves provide supplemental heat while adding warmth, character, and an authentic farmhouse ambiance. Firewood for both the home and the outdoor fire pit is included with your stay. **** Pets are allowed on a case by case basis ****Upstairs, the full bathroom is connected to a bedroom, so access is through that room. Guests may want to consider this layout when planning sleeping arrangements. ****Both indoor bathrooms are located on the same side of the house (one directly above the other). The lower bathroom is conveniently located just off the kitchen. ****An additional full bath is available in the beautifully restored dairy barn, just a short walk across the driveway. ****Firewood for the house and fire pit is provided at no additional charge Please note: The property no longer includes a hot tub. Some earlier reviews may reference it, but it has been retired. Guest access Guests will have private and exclusive access to the entire 3,900+ sq ft house and the barns immediately surrounding it. You will not be sharing this space with the owners or any other guests during your stay, ensuring complete privacy. For safety and operational reasons, two specific buildings located on the far side of the 72-acre property are not accessible to guests. Other things to note - Farm Animals: Our friendly goats, horses, ducks, and chickens live on the property. A caregiver will make brief, minimally disruptive visits (typically under an hour) to feed and care for them. - Firewood wil be provided for both the house and the firepit at no additional charge - Security: For your safety and the security of the property, exterior security cameras are in place, monitoring the grounds. - Property Boundaries: Please be aware that two buildings located on the far side of the property are off-limits to guests for safety and operational reasons.
