Description

Nestled within Dartmoor National Park in the heart of historic Moretonhampstead, this Grade II-listed building has been thoughtfully converted into a comfortable 2 bedroom home. The space retains many original features, with the inglenook fireplace now housing a cozy wood burner. On your doorstep are the many amenities this friendly market town offers; a deli, authentic Italian pizzeria, pubs, restaurants, cafes, independent shops and a seasonal outdoor heated swimming pool. The space Directly from the street enter into a bright and spacious well-equipped kitchen diner with large dual aspect windows. Take 2 steps down into a sitting room with log burner and cosy reading nook. Upstairs, from the first floor landing you'll find a bathroom with bath and shower. Across the landing take a further few steps up into a generous double bedroom with dedicated workspace. Adjacent to the bathroom is another staircase turning more steeply up into the 2nd double bedroom, roomy with a comfortable chaise longe. *Due to the steep stairs and Japanese bath the house may not be suitable for older guests* Guest access Enjoy the entire space over 3 floors. A back door gives direct access to a small shared courtyard where bikes can be stored safely under cover and taken to and from the road through a secure side exit. Other things to note Hook House is a grade II-listed building. We have a victorian frontage but the exposed internal stone work is 16th century and you may find small pieces of mortar and rock debris on some upper chimney surfaces.
