Any unbooked weeks will open to shorter stays beginning June 1, 2025. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to Sandy Ridge – Your Cozy Woodland Retreat Nestled on over 4 acres of serene forest and shoreline, Sandy Ridge is a charming, hand-crafted family cottage, built with the pines from the land in 1981. The cottage offers a peaceful escape with modern comforts and rustic charm. Comfortable Accommodations The main floor features a spacious, updated primary bedroom complete with a lovely electric fireplace. Upstairs, you'll find two cozy sleeping areas: The Bear Bunkroom with two twin beds and the Fox Loft with a full-size futon sleeper (featuring a full mattress.) Sound machines are provided to enhance your sleep experience. A small workspace at the top of the stairs overlooks the gardens and brook—perfect for remote work or quiet reflection. Inviting Living Spaces Relax in the living room on a plush full couch with chaise (which converts to a sofa bed—bedding stored in the chaise compartment), plus two comfy chairs for lounging, playing games, or watching TV. An electric log fireplace with heat and simple light settings adds a cozy ambiance. Fully Equipped Kitchen & Dining The updated kitchen features stainless steel appliances, a Keurig Duo, and a breakfast counter for two. It’s stocked with cooking essentials—oil, spices, flour, sugar, and more. Enjoy meals in the adjacent dining area with seating and place settings for six. The cottage’s filtered well water is crisp and refreshing. A heat pump/AC unit for year-round comfort is also located in the main floor dining area. Modern Bathroom & Bonus Amenities The bathroom includes a relaxing shower/tub combo and a stackable washer/dryer (starter detergent pods provided). Family-friendly features include a step stool and a combo regular/toddler toilet seat. Travel-size toiletries are available for your convenience. An updated yet rustic outdoor outhouse near the fire pit offers a second bathroom option, stocked with hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Outdoor Adventures Await Explore the property’s miles of winding woodland trails, gardens, and even a hidden tire swing. Follow the brook to the left of the cottage to spot frogs or head across the one lane camp road to explore the pond. Two sandy swimming and boating areas are reserved exclusively for Sandy Ridge guest use. Enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, or paddleboating (Memorial Day–Labor Day, weather permitting). Life jackets are provided for guests over 50 lbs. At night, gather around the fire pit under the stars—wood is supplied for 2–3 fires per stay. We can't wait to welcome you to Sandy Ridge Cottage at Green Pond! Guest access Guest have full access to the property. The main and 2nd floor of the cottage are fully available for guests use, less secured owner's closets. The unfinished basement is currently utilized as owner/ cleaner storage and is also kept secured. Should access be necessary for plumbing/ fuse box, please contact host. Other things to note Wildlife/ Insects Nestled in the Maine woods between two serene bodies of water, Sandy Ridge offers an immersive natural experience. To help preserve the peaceful indoor environment and avoid attracting unwanted wildlife, please ensure all doors and unscreened windows remain closed when not in use. The hosts regularly perform organic pest management to maintain a comfortable stay. Winter Rentals Snowfall of approximately 3 inches or more will be plowed by the host. For lighter accumulations, snow shovels are available near the front entrance for guest use. Seasonal Amenities Boats and docks are not generally available from October through Memorial Day Weekend. When feasible, a fire pit and outdoor seating may be provided, upon request. Please notify the hosts in advance of your stay if you’d like to use these amenities during your off-season rental.
