Without question, you will leave with memories that last a lifetime! Sandy Ridge is a seasonal family cottage built in 1981 located on 4+ acres of wooded area and shoreline. The cottage features a heat pump / AC unit on the main floor and provides a large updated primary bedroom along with two rustic sleeping spaces upstairs. The Bear Bunkroom hosts two twin beds while the Fox Loft hosts a full size futon sleeper with a lux sleeping pad atop the mattress. Sound machines provided for your sleeping comfort, should you wish to utilize them. A work space is available at the top of the stairs with a great view of the gardens and brook. Relax on a comfy full couch with chaise (converts to sofa bed, pillows, blankets and sheets available within chaise compartment,) along with two sitting chairs provide space for guest to socialize, enjoy card/ board games or watch TV in the living room. A beautiful electric log fireplace with mantle is available for guest use and features a heat/ non-heat option. The cottage features an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a Keurig Duo and a sitting area for two at the counter is available for your use. The kitchen is stocked with a wide array of amenities for your use including cooking basics like oil, spices, flour, sugar, etc. The drinking water comes from a filtered well point on property is of divine quality! A dining area for six with complete place setting for six is located right off of the kitchen. The updated bathroom provides a relaxing shower/tub along with a stackable washer/dryer, available for guest use. A starter pack of 3 detergent pods is provided. A step stool for the sink and combo regular/ toddler seat is installed for guests with children. A starter kit of travel sized toiletries is provided. An updated outdoor outhouse is also available for use by the fire pit area as an additional amenity when a second bathroom is needed, hand sanitizer and TP is stocked for use. Sandy Ridge has over 4 acres of land, including brook and pond shoreline, all of which is accessible for guest use. Miles of kept wooded paths wind through the property with gardens and even a tire swing hidden amongst. Explore the brook area to the left and catch a few frogs or head down the trails to the pond to the right. Two sandy swimming/ boating areas are available exclusively for Sandy Ridge guest use. Explore the pond with the provided kayaks, paddleboards or paddleboat- life jackets provided for 50+ pound individuals. (Available Memorial Day- early October weather permitting.) Back at the cottage, enjoy the undisturbed night sky with loved ones as you roast marshmallows around the fire pit, wood provided for 2-3 fires per stay. While the cottage sits away from it all you will only be 10 minutes from the nearest Walmart and a local Hannaford grocery store is only 6 minutes down Rt. 26. Great winter activities/ ski mountains close by for winter visitors! Lost Valley- Approx. 25 mins. Sea coast Adventure Park Snow Tubing- Approx. 30 mins. Mt. Abram- Approx. 40 mins. Sunday River- Approx. 50 minutes Numerous local sights, eateries and activities are outlined in our Guest Info Book, available to you at check-in. Guest have full access to the property and main and 2nd floors of the cottage, less secured owner's closets. The unfinished basement is currently utilized as owner/ cleaner storage and is also kept secured. Should access be necessary for plumbing/ fuse box, a key is available on site upon request. Owner resides within 30 minutes of property and is available via app from 8am-8pm and via phone for urgent/ emergency matters. Additionally, property co-caretakers may be available on adjoining glamping property from time to time. Rural yet convenient, only a mile to the casino and within 10 minutes of multiple eateries and grocery stores. Sandy Ridge is located down a private dirt road on a woodsy ridge between a beautiful brook and large pond. Neighboring residence are family members of the hosts. Parking for 2-3 vehicles available. As Sandy Ridge is located in the Maine woods, between two bodies of water, nature is abundant. To avoid inviting unwanted guests into the cottage, please be cognizant and do not leave doors and/ or unscreened windows ajar. Organic pest management is routinely complete by hosts. Winter Rentals: Plowable snow fall that amounts to approx. 3+ inches is handled by host. For lesser falls, snow shovels are accessible by front entrance. Boats and docks shown/ noted are not available mid-October through Memorial Day. Fire pit and outdoor seating available upon request with notice prior to stay.
