Greensboro vacation home w Private Pond
Your vacation spot in the beautiful NE Kingdom of VT. Great Views, Private Pond.
[SPECIAL NOTE: Please ask re: extended rental pricing if interested in longer term (multiple week, months) stays during pandemic] Beautiful year round home located in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, our location offers plenty of privacy as the last house on a well-maintained dirt road, and situated on 40 acres with our own spring-fed pond for summer swimming or winter skating. Views from the western-facing deck are of the northern range of Vermont's Green Mountains, from Mt. Mansfield to Jay Peak. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, medium-speed internet, WIFI, games, barbeque grill, beach towels, floats for the pond, and an eclectic assortment of books and board games. The lockable garage has plenty of space to stash bikes and store your gear. There is an Apple TV, DVD player and 6-7 broadcast stations come in crystal clear. Our beds include some brand-new posturpedic mattresses. In addition to the 2 king-size, 1 queen, and 4 twin beds, and and Aerobed is also available. The house is built on a hill and has 3 floors. A ground floor has 1 bedroom with a king bed and 1 bedroom with 3 singles (a "kids" room), as well as a bathroom. The 1st floor is where the front door is, and is the main living space with kitchen, living room, bath and sitting room. The top, or 2nd floor has 2 bedrooms both with king bed and a queen bed. The 2 rooms are separated by glass doors with curtains. Please note the house is built on an incline, and as such the uphill portion of the bottom floor is underground. As such, this floor is a pleasantly cool refuge in the hot summers, and large windows provide lots of light to the two bedrooms on this level. However, being partially underground the space does have an earthiness to it. We maintain humidifiers and air purifiers in on this level, and they are checked by our cleaners between every visit, to ensure that the air on this floor stays as healthy as in all the rest of the house. How to Reach the Pond : Walk down the driveway and keep walking on White Road (the road you drove in on). Take the first path you find on your left. The path is marked with 2 skinny orange stakes. The pond is 100 yards down the path. The best swimming is from the dock on the right side of the pond. There’s an old windsurfer board that you can float around on if desired. There should also be beach chairs set up next to the pond. The pond is spring-fed, so it is always cool and refreshing, even in the middle of summer. There are also a couple of tubes and a noodle in the garage, as well as a pump. PLEASE NOTE: this is a pond and as such is inhabited with various things you'd find in a pond - mud, fish, frogs etc. It is a natural environment. Other Options for Summer Swimming/Winter Ice Fishing/Skating Shadow Lake - Approximately 3 miles/5-10 minutes away (see map), take White Road ->right turn -> Rocking Rock Road -> Shadow Lake Road (alternately called Mud Island Road in parts). The public swimming beach is at the far end of the lake. Caspian Lake - Just past The Willeys Store in Greensboro on the right, you’ll find the access road to Lake Caspian’s public beach. There’s a sweet little ice cream shop on your right as you approach the parking lot. One of the most beautiful small lakes in Vermont.
