Room 2, mountain chalet guest experience
Private 3rd floor room in a shared mountain chalet. Perfect for the single traveler or a couple. Common areas are shared with me and/or my family, and perhaps another guest or two. You decide how much or how little social interaction you prefer. Meals can be together, or you use the common kitchen and clean up after yourself. I am happy to give tips on nearby restaurants, activities and entertainment. Why not take the chance to meet interesting people? Or you can be lonely in a hotel. #861-24 This is a fairly large chalet. It can easily handle our family (Nick, Natasha, Nina and our labradoodle “Dekki”), plus up to 2 guests per room in the 2 rented rooms. (Rm 1 can handle an extra child on a floor mat also. Rm 2 is really just for 1-2 people.) It is a 3 story building — 2100 sqft. You have access to: your private room (of course!) and also the kitchen, living room, dining room, entry/snow shake-off area, laundry area, indoor hot tub, 2 bathrooms, common deck out back, deck off kitchen with gas grill, and office room. In summer, the garden/yard is expansive and we can set up hammocks, table and chairs, fire pit (when burning allowed). There is a tree house, horseshoes, creek, pond, terrace, and faux “dock”, which is big enough for your picnic. Animals abound here in summer and share our environment. We have deer, bears, rabbits, birds, insects, and friendly garter snakes. In winter everyone just plays in the snow — you can dig a snow cave, make snow angels, snowshoe around (provided!) or just have a good ole snowball fight! Guests can socialize or maintain privacy to their liking. Shared spaces are welcoming, and all are expected to behave courteously and treat others with respect You can only see two other homes from our spot on this dead end street. It feels secluded, but actually close to town center — just walk over the bridge. Ski Bowl East is literally steps away — we always walk. Sometimes people have to park farther away than our driveway! Great view of Mount Hood also. This is the third floor bedroom. The third floor is where the family rooms are as well. It is available when Room 1 (see my profile for this listing) is in use already. It is more private, being on the ground floor. If you reserve this room (Room 2) and Room 1 is available, you will get Room 1 for the same price. Thanks!
