Secluded, but only 5 mins from Walmart for supplies. PLEASE NOTE (1) This is a fully off-grid experience (2) Winter campers, bundle up for cold nights. Read all info below! The space Our land is situated at a center point of some of the best hiking in North Carolina. Less than 45 mins from Linville Gorge, Mt. Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain, and Roan Mountain, and within 20 mins of 3 waterfall hikes at Crabtree Falls, Tom's Creek Falls, and Linville Falls. We are located over a mile from any residences on our own forested ridge, but only a 5 min drive from Walmart for quick supply runs. ❌ Not available for the dates you want? If you have a friend who would like to join, they are welcome to lay a pad on the wood floor or pitch a tent in the cleared area by the fire pit. KITCHEN -- You will have a gas grill & side burner cooking setup with two 7-gallon water jugs, sink basin, and a 55-quart cooler pre-filled with ice. POWER -- 1000Wh portable solar battery + 400W of solar panels provide power for charging devices, lights, and a standing fan. HEAT -- There is a propane heater that will keep the dome warm at night, but no permanent heating system. BATHROOM -- April has a NEW outhouse (March 2025). A short easy walk from dome, you’ll now have your own private outhouse stocked with toilet paper & hand sanitizer. ACCESS -- You will park about 150 ft away from the dome and hike uphill to it via a fairy-lit trail through the forest. NOTE you will drive on a mile of gravel road to get to the property that can be rough in a few areas. There is nothing steep, just chewed up and bumpy. (take it slow and you should be fine). FIRE -- Fires are allowed in the fire ring only. Gather your own fire material from the site or purchase firewood from Walmart to make things easy! TO-BRING-LIST: - Sturdy shoes or boots (Chaco folks, strap up!) - Reusable water bottle - Headlamp - Extra layer or two - Bug spray LOCATION: Crabtree Falls, Grassy Creek Falls, & Tom's Creek Falls all within a 15-min drive. Take our favorite stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway to Linville Gorge - 25 mins to Linville Falls, Babel Tower, and Wisemann's View! Or head the other way to the tallest peak East of the Mississippi, Mt. Mitchell. Guest access You have full access to the dome's immediate surroundings, private outhouse, fire pit area, walking trail, and a short hike to Hoot Owl Falls on the property.
