"Welcome HoMA" The Home of Modern Art is centrally located in Hampton Roads. 2 Miles from Olde Town Portsmouth and just a ferry ride away from Waterside and Downtown Norfolk. Only 20min to the VA Beach Oceanfront or 20min to Hampton. Inside the home enjoy rotating art from local artists and beyond, the firepit outside in the yard, or a cookout on the patio. No matter the purpose of your stay, we have plenty recommended things-to-do from a day at the beach to night-life in the city. The space General Details Enjoy a stylish experience at our unique Artist Home. Our home features 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There is one bathroom on the 1st floor with the 2nd bathroom and 2 bedrooms located on the 2nd floor. It has unique architecture and custom features, including a 3rd story watchtower. The backyard has a nice patio with a grill and there is also a fire pit. What Makes Our Home Special As artists and DIYers, this space is great for art enthusiasts and creatives. You will find works from local artists of the 757/Hampton Roads as well as work we've collected on our travels - hence the name, HoMA. You will definitely want to check back in with us and stay again as our space evolves over time, offering you a new experience with each stay. Other things to note Old House, Old Pipes Although the house has been updated, it is still an old house. Please only flush toilet paper down the toilet. Paper towels and other hygiene products must be thrown in the trash. "Tiny House" in Backyard Please note that in the backyard to the right of the property is a Mother-in-Law Suite or "Tiny House". This is rented as a short term rental. The tenants there will also have access to the fire pit. They have their own separate driveway to access their home. Service Animals We only allow service dogs as defined by the ADA (visit the ADA website for details). This is a dog trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability, and does NOT include emotional support animals. Please let Us know in advance so we can plan ahead for a deep cleaning after your stay, in consideration of future guests with allergies. Pets We do not allow pets or emotional support animals. Any Unauthorized pets will result in a $40/night charge each. Additional damage will result in additional charges. Safety Your safety is our top priority during your stay, with extra cleaning procedures and safety equipment such as CO2 monitors and a fire extinguisher. Exterior Cameras We have exterior cameras on the front entrance and back entrance for your safety and the security of our property.
