Arriving at Raíces, a family-owned and operated, sustainable hotel, you will find a natural sanctuary, where you can connect through the magnificent tropical gardens, the diverse and beautiful species of birds, a pool with natural water, a hammock oasis to rest, and a lovely river that you can access from the Ecolodge. The space In this room you will be able to connect with the element fire, which helps reconcile instinct with the rational, emotions and spirituality through transformation. This room is ideal for sharing as a couple, or with family or friends. It has a comfortable double bed, private bathroom, hammock, and overlooks the gardens in an open terrace, shared with another room. To maintain our commitment to sustainability, this room is not equipped with hot water, however the water here is moderate and you’ll enjoy a refreshing shower surrounded by bamboo and the gardens around us. If you’re looking to book for more than two people, you can book the Pomo Rosa room to accommodate more people, and share the space. About Us: At Raices, you will experience a place not only to sleep, but a sanctuary to live the earth’s elements, the wonderful nature, and the associated food from the land. You will be transformed to immediate calmness, with the beautiful sounds of nature surrounding you. Situated immediately next to the Bizcocha river, each room was built with love from local materials and constructed in a way to minimize electricity and water use. Each room is a unique experience accompanied with comfort and tranquility. We have five cabanas on our property, however each cabana offers privacy, shielded by nature on either side. You can enjoy the shared pool, relaxing hammock area and a dining area surrounded by a garden sanctuary. We also have an indoor chill space which includes games, books, and instruments, that we invite you to use and enjoy. All rooms include: luxury bedding, an outdoor sitting area, a fan (although the weather here is very moderate), a desk, drinking water, and soap. Our cabanas are enclosed with bamboo-style windows, so from time to time we have critters in the rooms, however we offer curtains around the bed for more comfortable sleeping. Enjoy a partially open-air shower, sit and relax on the front porch, and explore all of the magic of San Rafael. EcoLodge: Here at Raices, we are part of a city-wide network, La Red Local de Turismo de San Rafael, an organization where we work for rural tourism to create a sustainable tourism strategy to conserve our beautiful territory. Food: At Raices we believe food is one the best ways to nourish our souls. The room rate includes a delicious breakfast, with coffee or tea, local fruit juices, and Colombian’s traditional chocolate beverage, produced by local farmers. All our food and beverages are made here with love, or sourced locally from entrepreneurs in the area. We also provide a delicious lunch service (not included in room price) and can help with ordering local food for dinner. In the area and what to do: Within walking distance we have several beautiful river spots, which can be seen in our photos. Enjoy the sun within the mountains, while bathing in refreshing, crystal clear swimming holes. We can help you create a personalized experience to discover the best of San Rafael. We also have an indoor living room for reading, relaxing and playing music. We welcome you to share with our family, the nature, and the property we have cultivated to share with others. Other things to note Please note that sometimes there are insects in the room. We encourage you to close windows and doors, and sleep with the curtains around you. Our furry friend, Honey, a sweet golden retriever, lives with us here on the property. Nature noises surround us, with very little disruption from streets or nearby neighbors.
