Waterfront Rustic Cottage

Rustic Family Cottage on the shores of beautiful Wassi Lake! For the months of July and August we are ONLY RENTING BY THE WEEK FROM SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. Large yard, fire pit & shallow beach ideal for young children. The cottage features an open concept kitchen, living and dining area, as well as 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. A short drive to groceries, LCBO and gas. The space This recently updated Rustic cottage with Canadiana styled furnishings is a great place to take your family to relax. It includes a fully stocked kitchen with all utensils, pots, pans and dishes, toaster, slow cooker, kurig drip coffee maker (with option for pods which are not provided), microwave, and blender - all available for your use. Open concept kitchen, living and dining area with ceiling fans, and wood burning stove for those cooler months. Wake up and take your coffee to the huge front deck to watch the sun come up. The kids can play on the sandy beach, in the large side yard, or go exploring through our 1.5 archres of forest. The Rec Shed has beach toys, a bochy ball set, a washer toss game, beach umbrellas, and lawn chairs. We have some life jackets (not all sizes, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN), fishing rods, and basic fishing gear. Hook your own boat to the dock when you are not out fishing or skiing. Or explore Wasi Lake in our 2 - 2 person canoes. We also have 1 pedal boat, 2 paddle boards, and 2 kayaks available for use. The use of all recreational equipment is to be used At Your Own Risk. We also have a 14 ft aluminum boat, which can be rented for an additional $150 for the week. Bring your own motor. If you rent the boat, you are responsible for taking the boat in and out of the water. This can be done right on our beach or down the road at the govn't boat launch if you are more comfortable. For an additional $50 fee, the boat can be launched for you. Please let us know when booking. For dinner, a propane BBQ is available (propane included) for you to cook your meals on and eat outside on the picnic tables. Then gather around the fire pit for a great family evening, complete with marshmallow skewers (in the Rec Shed) and bright starry skies! If you should have a rainy day, take a trip to town and explore museums and antique shops. Or have a game night with one (or more) of our many board or card games provided in the white cabinet in the dining room. We also have Satellite TV with stations to keep you up to date on all your sports and TV series as well as movies. UPDATE: We plan on adding WIFI this year for your browsing enjoyment. In the bunk room, we have added a TV and DVD player. There are many dvds available for use. All PG13 movies are in the top dresser drawer in the bunk room, while PG14 and up are in the tv cabinet in the living room. There are not many movies for small children, so if you have some, please bring them. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed, Bedroom 2 has a double bed, and Bedroom 3 has bunk beds (2 twins). We also have a Pack n Play available for babies. All linens are provided. If additional sleeping spots are needed, the couch pulls out to a double bed. If there are more than 6 people in your party, plan on being close! The bathroom has been recently renovated with toilet, sink, and small shower. Our hot water tank is 12 gallons, so expect 30 minutes to wait between showers unless you're quick.. Guest access Whole house Other things to note Welcome to our cottage We have provided many of your necessities - dish soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash (eco-friendly), toilet paper, paper towels, and garbage bags. We have also provided enough Perk Coffee, Sugar, Seasonings, and Bottled Water to get you started. Please bring your choice of these items for your continued enjoyment. All linens - Sheets, Bath Towels (white) and Beach towels (coloured), tea towels, and dish clothes all provided. Just bring your clothes and food and water as everything else is already here!! We are on a septic tank, so the toilet should not be flushed every time you go. Please follow the adage "If it's yellow, let it mellow, if its brown flush it down", when at all possible! Small Bon Fires are allowed After 6:00 pm and wood is not provided. You will find many fallen branches in our forest which you are welcome to burn, otherwise bring your own or buy from town. If there is a Fire Ban, there are Absolutely No Fires Allowed. When driving to the cottage, at the end of Memorial Dr (corner of Memorial Dr and Alderdale Rd) there is a huge sign advising of the risk of forest fires and whether bon fires are allowed at all. You will also be advised on the radio. Please act accordingly. There are 2 firefighters living on our street :) The hot water tank is only 12 gallons, which is plenty to take a good shower. Please wait 30 minutes for the water to get hot again before the next person showers or take shorter showers! We are on well water. It won't kill you to drink it, but it often times doesn't smell or taste that good, so we prefer bottled. Some water will be left for you in the fridge to get you started. You can bring more, or you can follow the map to get Fresh Spring Water for Free! (Large jugs are under the table by the stove) If it gets cooler at night, there are space heaters in each bedroom. Also, the wood stove can be used (again, wood is not provided). Please contact us if you need assistance!! There is an extra blanket in the bottom of each dresser and an extra set of sheets in the grey cabinet in the bunk room if you should need them. At the end of your stay, please place your tied garbage and recycling bags in the bins behind the house. We hope you love our little getaway as much as we do.
