The Piano Room in Milton

You don't have to be a pianist to find harmony in this room, but if you are, you'll be right on key! Everything in the room has a story to tell. The Piano Room has a luxurious yet cozy feel to it, and the seaside theme of your private bathroom reflects the beauty of our nearby beaches. Whether you are dropping off a college student, relocating to the area, or enjoying a getaway, the Piano Room is perfect for you! If you need more space, ask me about The Guitar Room at the other end of the hall. The space Our home is set up for self-check-in, but if I'm home, I'll greet you when you arrive. Before check-in I will text you your unique code for the combination lock on the front door. For your safety (and ours), the door will lock again a few seconds after you open it, so you will need to enter the code each time you enter the house. The Piano Room is equipped with a Queen-sized bed, an end table, a desk and chair, a mini fridge with freezer, and an empty closet for your use. Extra towels and wash cloths are in the bottom drawer of the antique wash stand, and the top two drawers are available for your use. You will find some plastic hangers and a luggage rack inside the closet, as well as a laundry basket, first aid kit, a space heater, personal fan, and an extra blanket for the cold nights. The room is also equipped with power bars that include integrated USB ports. (Note: The closet behind the bedroom door is not currently available for your use.) Guest access The Piano Room and the hall bathroom (just outside the bedroom door) are for your exclusive use during your stay. You are also welcome to use the kitchen, dining table, living room, and outdoor furniture. Board games, card games, and books are available in the main part of the house, and you are free to use them. The washer and dryer are also available for guests staying a week or more, but please coordinate with me first. Please enjoy the living room, kitchen, and backyard. Feel free to cook in the kitchen and to eat at the table, if you so desire. If your stay includes a Sunday, we invite you to join our family for the noon meal. I'm accustomed to cooking for a crowd, but I do appreciate you letting me know in advance if you plan to join us so that I can set a place for you at the table. We currently rent out two of our rooms on Airbnb: The Piano Room and The Guitar Room, each with its own private bathroom. If you have a large group and need both of them, let me know and I'll offer you a special rate, assuming they're both available. Including the pack 'n' play for babies and toddlers, we can accommodate up to 5 guests when both rooms are rented. Between the two rented rooms is The Green Room, a multi-purpose room that is still a work in progress. When I've finished setting it up, you'll also be able to utilize that space. There you will find a treadmill, children's books and toys, as well as other games and puzzles. During your stay My husband works during the day with occasional days off. I work from my home office during the day, but I also have two part-time jobs outside the home. That said, we both would love to meet you, unless you prefer your privacy. Also, my husband is an early bird, while I'm a night owl. In the mornings he can often be found sitting at the kitchen table. We spend our evenings in the living room, and I usually stay there after he goes to bed. We both enjoy visiting with our guests in these shared spaces. If you need to reach me when I'm not available in person, Airbnb messaging is the preferred way. I may be delayed in getting back to you when I'm at work or at church, but I will reply as soon as possible. I keep my phone with me, but it goes to Do Not Disturb during Sunday and Wednesday church services---as well as when I'm driving---so I may not see it right away. And when I'm at work, I can't hear it. I only mention this because a lot of people message me on Sundays. Speaking of Sundays, we welcome dinner guests at our table for the noon meal. If your stay does not include a Sunday, but you would like to share an evening meal with us, please let me know. Other things to note Your room refrigerator is stocked with bottled water and a few other beverages. You'll also find snacks and other goodies in a bowl on the wash stand. Help yourself! They are for you. Please note that the snacks in the kitchen are for family, not guests. We welcome each of our guests to join us for family dinner (noon meal) on Sunday, if your stay includes that day. I'll try to let you know ahead of time what's on the menu. If you plan to join us, please let me know so I can be sure to have enough. About the art in our home.... My piano art is featured in an art gallery in downtown Pensacola as well as a studio in Navarre. Nearly all of the art in the Piano Room is my original work and is for sale. If you are interested, let me know. I accept cash, debit/credit cards, and certain other payments. My art may be found in other parts of the house as well. At this point, none of the art in The Guitar Room is for sale.
