You don't have to be a pianist to find harmony in this room, but if you are, you'll be right on key! Everything in the room has a story to tell. The Piano Room has a luxurious yet cozy feel to it, and the seaside theme of your private bathroom reflects the beauty of our nearby beaches. Whether you are dropping off a college student, relocating to the area, or enjoying a getaway, the Piano Room is perfect for you! Our home is set up for self-check-in, but since we have a dog, it might be better if one of us is home when you arrive. Before check-in I will text you your unique code for the combination lock on the front door. For your safety (and ours), the door will lock again a few seconds after you open it, so you will need to enter the code each time you enter the house. The Piano Room is equipped with a Queen-sized bed, an end table, a desk and chair, a mini fridge with freezer, and an empty closet for your use. Extra towels and wash cloths are in the bottom drawer of the antique wash stand, and the top two drawers are available for your use. You will find some plastic hangers and a luggage rack inside the closet, as well as a laundry basket, first aid kit, and a space heater and extra blanket for the cold nights. The room is also equipped with an emergency/night light and power bars that include integrated USB ports. (Note: The closet behind the bedroom door is not currently available for your use.) The Piano Room and the hall bathroom (just outside the bedroom door) are for your exclusive use during your stay. You are also welcome to use the kitchen, dining table, living room, and outdoor furniture. Board games, card games, books, and a DVD player are available in the main part of the house, and you are free to use them. The washer and dryer are also available for guests staying a week or more, but please coordinate with me first. My husband works during the day with occasional days off. Currently I am home with a broken foot, so I'm unable to go to my part-time job. I do, however, work from my home office during the day. That said, we both would love to meet you, unless you prefer your privacy, and we welcome dinner guests at our table on Sundays. If your stay does not include a Sunday, but you would like to share a meal with us, please let me know. Middle-class suburbia filled with friendly people. If you enjoy a morning or evening stroll, our neighborhood will provide you with 3 miles of curbside walking. There are also public parks nearby with access to the Blackwater River. Milton is largely rural, so a personal vehicle is recommended. Parking throughout Milton is free. Uber is available, but you may end up waiting a while or need to plan in advance for a ride. You will find shopping, parks, museums, groceries, gas, hospital, and more within a 20-minute drive of the house. Some restaurants deliver to the house, and Uber Eats is an option. We also have a few fast-food eateries within easy walking distance from the house. Both Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach are only 30 minutes away. Note that there are two toll bridges in the area: the bridge going from Milton to Gulf Breeze, and the one leading to Pensacola Beach. Both are Pay-by-Plate and accept Sun Pass, EZ-Pass, and possibly also Peach Pass. There are no tolls between our home and Navarre Beach, and there is an alternate toll-free route to Gulf Breeze. Pensacola Christian College is 17 minutes (16 miles) away. Your room refrigerator is stocked with bottled water, soda, and snack foods, but help yourself to a self-served breakfast in the kitchen. Options include dry cereal, oatmeal, cream of wheat, grits, pancakes, and eggs. We often will have bagels, English muffins, and doughnuts from a local bakery as well. Beyond breakfast, we welcome each of our guests to join us for a family dinner. I'll try to let you know ahead of time what's on the menu. If you plan to join us, please let me know the day before so I can be sure to have enough.
