Restored 18th century, stone-built, two storey Irish farmhouse, set among mature trees, at the end of a country lane. 1.5 miles from country pub and Lyrath 5-star hotel, three miles from medieval Kilkenny City and near golf courses, horseracing, 19th century Catholic church and GAA sports facilities. The space Dunphys has been fully restored as a 3-bedroom farmhouse. Two bedrooms ensuite. Third has adjacent wetroom. Fold-up camp bed and travel cot also available. Fully equipped kitchen/dining room, living room, utility space. Insulation is excellent and there is a Stanley cooker for central heating and a wood-burning stove for the winter evenings. The house dates back to the 1700's with some original features still intact including an open stone fireplace with original oak beam above. There are photos on the walls of the original owners, the Dunphy family, dating back over 100 years. Dunphys is accessed via a tree lined lane. There is a an old courtyard at the front and an large, wildflower garden at the rear. Guest access The house and surrounding garden are available for the sole use of guests. This is a livestock farm with access roadways for cattle movement. It is possible, under advice from the host, to stroll along these roadways at certain times of the year. There is some limited storage space available for bicycles, etc.
