Cozy, quaint tiny home in San Marcos. Located just outside the city limits, this quiet property is great for those who would like to relax yet be near local amenities. This property is a stand-alone home with a private entrance and designated parking. If you are looking for a quiet place to unwind, or to be in proximity of the nightlife and attractions of San Marcos, San Antonio, or Austin, the McCarty Oaks Cabin is the perfect place to be! The space This is a 400 square foot tiny home. Amenities include major appliances, cookware, plates, bowls, cups, silverware, bathing towels, blankets, and bed linens. A coffee maker (and coffee!) is also provided. The space has 1 separate bedroom (curtained off) with a full size bed and a sofa bed (twin size). Your private entrance is located through a gate at the back of the cabin, and is accessible by 3 steps to the door, climbing approximately 22 inches in height. You will receive a unique door combination within 24 hours of your arrival date/time. The cabin is cooled and heated by HVAC. There are also ceiling fans and moveable standing fans for your use. You have access to designated parking next to the cabin. Parking is limited to one vehicle, as the parking space is small. The cabin has access to a fenced yard. The cabin is located across the driveway from our main home. As the cabin is located across the driveway from our main home, we ask that you use the designated parking space next to the cabin, which is marked by a guest parking sign. We ask that you pull up fully into the designated space so as to not block our personal vehicles from entering and exiting the driveway and garage. Parking is limited to one vehicle. The fenced yard into which the cabin opens is available for your use. Please limit your use of the yard to this area, as the adjoining fenced area is for our personal use. If you have any questions, regarding these spaces please do not hesitate to contact us. Other things to note We try to keep our cleaning fees minimal and request that you do some light cleaning during your stay and prior to check-out. Bagged trash should be placed in the outside receptacle next to your parking space before you check-out. Trash bags and cleaning supplies are provided for your use. Dogs are welcome during your stay. Owners of dogs acknowledge when booking that their dog is well behaved, socialized and current on all vaccinations. We can accommodate a maximum of 2 dogs in this cabin. When booking, we ask that you register your dogs with us in your introduction message. We do ask that your pets stay off of the furniture. If you must leave your pet in the cabin unattended at any time during your stay, they must be kenneled in a locked crate. This ensures their safety as well as care of the property. Please use the provided pet waste disposal bags to clean up after your pets have taken care of their restroom needs. You'll find the disposal bags in the bottom shelf of the kitchen cupboard. The filled waste disposal bags should be placed in the outside trash receptacle. Excessive animal impact on the cabin will be assessed additional cleaning and/or repair fees beginning at $100. Please note that we have a family dog who you may see periodically in the adjoining yard (of the main house). She will not enter your fenced area during your stay. All her vaccinations are current. The accessible yard is surrounded by a wrought iron fence, with gaps between and under the posts and slats large enough for small pets to pass through. As the yard is adjacent to a home, you will find storage sheds, etc. located in the yard. Please do not leave your children and/or pets unattended in the yard. We will not be responsible for lost or injured children and/or pets. The cabin is on a septic system. We ask that you kindly dispose of all feminine hygiene products, paper towels, napkins, diapers, and wipes, etc. in the trash. Our pipes thank you! As with any stay, guests are responsible for their personal safety, as well as the safety of their children and pets. Please be mindful of outlets, cords, hot water, etc. Please note that the cabin is cooled and heated by HVAC. The unit is adjustable for your comfort. Rooms also contain ceiling fans. Moveable standing fans and heaters are also available for your use. We do not allow third party bookings. The person making the reservation is required to be staying on the property, as they are assuming responsibility for the stay. We reserve the right to require an established traveler account with positive reviews. A photo ID may be required at check-in. Please note that parties or gatherings of individuals other than those listed as guests during booking (this cabin can hold a maximum of 3 people) is prohibited. Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside the cabin. If evidence of smoking or vaping indoors is found, a cleaning fee of up to $500 to remove odors and stains may be applied. Please do not burn candles or use open flames on the property. Burn bans are commonly in effect in our area. Illegal substances and illegal activity is prohibited on the property and is subject to immediate removal and forfeiture of reservation fees in addition to the notification of appropriate authorities. Please keep the property clean and free of trash and litter. As the cabin is located in a residential neighborhood, noise ordinances are enforced. Unreasonable noise should be limited between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. Noise should not be heard outside of the cabin property. Violation of the noise ordinance will result in immediate removal from the property without reservation reimbursement. **A note on wildlife** - Due to the scenic nature of this property (outside the city limits), the chances of encountering creatures such as deer, birds, raccoon, possum, armadillo, fox, skunk, outdoor domestic cats, snakes, scorpions, and other insects is relatively high when compared to an urban property. Please book the property with this information in mind. We do our best to keep those who live outside, outside. If you need assistance during your stay, please contact us. Keeping doors and windows closed helps to prevent unwanted visitors. Please note that hunting wildlife is not permitted. Violation of any house rules may result in immediate removal without any reservation reimbursement.
