Central Salem Hideaway Studio

Our Hideaway studio is a cozy studio suite located within walking distance of downtown Salem, the state Capitol, and Willamette University. The Hideaway has total privacy, with your own entrance, full bathroom, kitchenette, and washer & dryer. Our neighborhood is close enough to downtown to enjoy walking to local restaurants, shops, Riverfront Park, and more. The I-5 freeway is a 5-minute drive from our home, making it easy to get to neighboring cities. *See spring/summer 2026 note in property* The space The Hideaway studio is located at the basement level of our home with the main level occupied by our family of 4. You will have your own entrance with complete privacy* (see note below regarding emergency scenarios). The Hideaway has a queen bed with a brand-new cooling-gel memory foam mattress, cadet heater in main room and bathroom, your own washer & dryer in the closet with a dresser, WiFi, and Roku TV with PlayStation. While the cadet heater keeps the space nice and warm in the colder months, the basement location keeps the space very cool in the hotter months. The PlayStation has a few games and the Roku TV has access to streaming apps including our login for Netflix and Disney+. The Hideaway also has a kitchenette with basic cooking items, electric cooktop, microwave, fridge with freezer, sink, and Keurig K-mini coffee maker. * (please note: our electrical box for the home is located in the studio apartment. In the event of an emergency that requires access to the electrical box, we will need to access the box from the Hideaway. If this were to ever happen, we will notify you as soon as we know it’s an issue to resolve.) Spring to Summer 2026 notice: We are in the midst of some construction work happening in our backyard periodically over the late spring through late summer months. The anticipated work time of the construction crew is expected to be weekdays between 8 AM to 5 PM. This should not interfere at all with your stay, as the construction will be happening in the backyard and not directly on our home, but we want prospective guests to be aware. Guest access The Hideaway has its own separate entrance so we will not be bothering you during your stay unless there is a need to access the electrical box in the event of an emergency as listed in The Space description. Entrance to the unit is accessed through the stairwell down to the unit across from our garage. You will have your own keyless entry code to the studio. We have multiple dusk-to-dawn lights along the house that will automatically turn on in the evenings to provide plenty of lighting if you are coming and going later in the day, along with an entryway light that you can turn on or off as needed. The studio door that leads to our main level will remain locked throughout your stay. Check-in begins at 5 PM due to our work schedules, but if you are hoping for an earlier check-in please reach out and we will do our best to accommodate if at all possible. Other things to note The space is very newly remodeled and has been a labor of love project for us. Please keep in mind this is our family home, with children living on the main level.
