Starlight Retreat Yellowstone’s XL Family bell tent sleeps 5 guests. It’s a rustic, eco-friendly glamping retreat on 40 acres of stunning forest, meadows, and aspen groves; yet only several minutes from hwy 20 and 19 minutes to West Yellowstone. It has 1 King, a twin day bed w/ a twin trundle and either a futon or fold out chair/bed, each with their own bedding. You’ll enjoy electricity, interior lighting, a communal campfire, and be walking distance from shared bathrooms with hot showers. The space Our XL Family tent is large and roomy inside. With 6 foot tall side walls, a 315 sq foot (20 foot diameter) interior, and a 14 foot height you won’t feel cramped. It includes fresh linens, towels, and extra thick comforters for the king bed and all 3 twin beds (2 of the 3 twins are twin mattresses, 1 is either a futon or a fold out chair/bed). There’s extra blankets in each unit to keep you warm during colder nights . It can get into the 80's during summer days and drop as low as the 40's on summer nights and colder in the spring/fall. We’re the only eco friendly glamping site near West Yellowstone to supply 3 prong electrical outlets from our battery banks, all off grid, to every accommodation. This will power all the interior lighting, and allow you to charge all your devices, even many laptops that take a standard 2 or 3 prong AC wall plug. Keep in mind if there are cloudy days this will diminish the power available during your stay. Please note that these will not power small appliances or CPAP machines. Restrooms are walking distance and shared with other guests. We offer toilets, sinks and hot showers, all off grid. We also provide you with fresh bath towels. Our season starts in late May and ends Sept 30th. The tents are waterproof so we do operate in all weather conditions. Please remember this is still camping, your tent does not have a thermostat, please plan for the weather. That includes warm/cold weather, rain, mud, and even snow during some months. Being in a high altitude, mountain climate, even in the summer your tent will get down to a cool temperature by the morning so if you like sleeping really warm, we suggest bringing thermals, sweats or other clothing in case you want to sleep even warmer. Most guests have told us that they loved the beds and they stayed perfectly comfortable through the night under the blankets even when the tent got colder. Guest access At a quick 19 minute drive from the main Yellowstone gate, only several minutes off HWY 20, surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes and some of the best fishing in the country, Starlight Retreat is in an ideal location for your Yellowstone vacation. There's a reason they call this area sportsman's paradise. Access Starlight Retreat by exiting Hwy 20 at Red Rock Pass Rd, first right on bootjack drive, Starlight Retreat will be 2,000 feet down the road on your left, follow signs for parking. Other things to note This is glamping, which is still camping, so there are a few things to be prepared for that will be different than a hotel stay. - WILDLIFE. One of the unique draws to this area is its amazing variety of wildlife. The ones we need our guests to be aware of are bears, insects, and cows. Although most Grizzly bears are found inside the national park, they do travel great distances and have a great sense of smell. We do not want them interacting with you or any other guests so our #1 rule at Starlight Retreat Yellowstone is no food, deodorant, toothpaste or anything else with a strong scent inside the tents. Please leave your food inside your car with the windows shut, most cars will do a relatively good job of limiting smells from escaping but it’s even better if you put them inside ziploc containers as well. Cows have a right to graze on site, they usually only come on property in September/October but they could come earlier, don’t be alarmed if you see them, it’s perfectly OK and expected. But they are large animals, please don't approach them. - TENT USE. Please note all the beds will have their bedding on when you arrive. However, it is the guests responsibility to fold out the chair/bed or futon and put on the sheets when you’re ready for bed. If you have problems with the furniture, please call our staff and they will help. We have off grid mini solar power stations for each unit. You just need to power it on to use it. There's a small button under the outlets to power them on. Keep in mind that you will be staying in a canvas tent in the mountains, the tent will get cold through the night but you should stay cozy and warm under your comforter and extra blanket.
