Valley House | Spacious & contemporary, this stunning light-filled home is the perfect place to gather in the beauty of the Laurel Highlands. We designed each space with intention to balance comfort and clean lines that frame expansive mountain views outside and deliver spa-like amenities inside. Enjoy coffee and crisp views from the sunroom, soak in the jacuzzi tub under the stars, breathe deeply in the dedicated sauna room or sink into a meditative practice in the Zen room. Take in a leisurely hike or bike ride on the Indian Creek Valley Trail, or enjoy a peaceful fishing spot on a bridge over the Class A trout stream less than a 5-minute walk from the house. Return home and gather around the bespoke kitchen island or settle in by the hearth in the media room to the crackle of the fireplace, or the cheers of a crowd as you watch the game on the 75-inch UHD TV. Take in long views of the valley from the east deck or watch the sun set over the marsh from the west deck, which overlooks the firepit and the hot tub. At night, tuck into luxuriously appointed beds, with down comforters, crisp white linens and an abundance of pillows and fluffy blankets. Enjoy these unique amenities just minutes away from the ski slopes at Seven Springs and Hidden Valley, the hiking and rafting at Ohiopyle and the architectural genius of Frank Lloyd Wright at Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. The heart of this home is a magnificent custom island spanning 22 feet that seamlessly connects an open plan living, dining and kitchen space. Your entire party can gather around to play, prep, and eat, making this the perfect place to come together for holidays, family reunions, spa, ski, or rafting weekends. The modern, luxurious kitchen is fully equipped to give any cook the amenities they need, while being designed to accommodate plenty of helpers (or non-helpers!) so no-one feels left out of the conversation. Available Spaces: Groups can easily flow from the main room to the generous deck or break off into adjacent spaces – a sunroom, a media room with fireplace, a Zen room/gym space and a sauna room round out the spacious first floor common spaces, all thoughtfully designed to facilitate break-out activities or even small yoga or jiu jitsu retreats. Beyond the common areas and a powder room, the first floor also features a master-bedroom and attached full bath, making it ideal for those who may prefer to stay on one level. Escape upstairs to four additional bedrooms and two full baths. All beds are equipped with memory foam mattresses, down comforters, piles of pillows and fuzzy throw blankets, and feature charging stations for your phones and devices. Outside you will find multiple spaces to unwind, with two large decks, a 7-person hot tub, a firepit surrounded by relaxing Adirondack chairs, and a spacious yard - ideal for pets, kids, or a game of cornhole on the provided boards. We have over an acre, bounded by pine trees along the road, but also including the overflow parking lot on the west side of the yard. The driveway by the house has room for 3 cars and 9 more can fit in the overflow parking. We want you to be delighted and are dedicated to hosting our guests in comfort. We feel so good when we arrive at our valley house and want you to feel the same way. We are both experienced travelers who have stayed in homes and hotels all over the world. We know that clean design and thoughtful amenities are the foundation of a good experience. We visit our homes often and we have an amazing local crew that is likewise invested in insuring that we meet your expectations. We are available via text phone call, and through the AirBnB app before, during and after your stay. We are ideally located for the most popular attractions that the Laurel Highlands have to offer. An easy 10-minute drive from the turnpike, the house is less than 15 minutes away from both Seven Springs and Hidden Valley (to the north) and 20 minutes away from Ohiopyle State Park and Fallingwater (to the south). G&D Market, the neighborhood grocery store is less than a minute past the house, and Champion Food & Fuel, at the corner of County Line Rd and PA-711 has a gas station and convenience store that is open late. Firewood and beer are available from several vendors you will pass between the turnpike and the house. There are stores and trails within walking distance. However, being out in the countryside, a car is essential for most other trips as there are no public transit or ride-sharing services. Our home is on Indian Creek Valley Road, which is a scenic byway leading down to Ohiopyle, so it is kept well-cleared in the winter. Unlike many other properties in the area, it remains accessible without 4-wheel drive in the winter months. We have screened the yard with large pines trees, but you will hear cars drive by when the windows are open. We generally find the mountain air to be cool, especially overnight, but we do have central A/C in all parts of the house except the front addition that houses the media room/downstairs master bedroom. Often the best way to maintain a comfortable temperature is to use the fans to bring the cool air in. Heat is, likewise, central in the main house and controlled room-by-room in the front. We are in the country, so there are a fair number of critters who would love to make it inside. We have screens on all the windows and a regular pest control service. - NOTE: Firewood is not provided at the property but can be purchased at several of the local stores near the property. If a larger quantity is desired, we can also provide a contact who will deliver by truck.

I am a lawyer and my partner manages global IT projects. We both train combat sports, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for me and boxing for him. We love to travel, but also to retreat the Laurel Highlands with our three boys and Kiki our cat. What we affectionately call “The Mountain House” has become a treasured place to gather with our family and friends for holidays and we began hosting guests in January 2020. It has been a positive experience that has allowed us to welcome other families for their special times together. We have enjoyed it so much that we recently found a home we are calling The Valley House, which we just finished renovating. We spent a ton a lot of time there winter into the fall with the goal of making it magical for our family and yours. We deeply enjoy the design process and working through how to make each space feel thoughtful and well-designed. We hope to host you soon!
