The Dairy at West Heath Barn

The Dairy offers accommodation for 4-6 people in a beautifully renovated Norfolk Barn just outside the pretty North Norfolk village of Great Massingham. Vaulted ceilings, tiled floors and a wood-burner provide bags of character. It’s very dog-friendly and the fully-fenced dog exercise paddock is the gateway to the network of paths that surround us. The ideal base for walking, cycling, visiting the coast or local attractions or simply recharging your batteries in a beautiful, tranquil setting. The space West Heath Barn offers two dog-friendly self-catering cottages in traditional 1850’s Norfolk barns. The Dairy is the larger of our 2 cottages, having a fully-equipped kitchen & dining area, utility room, cloakroom, lounge and both the twin and double bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms. It is superbly equipped with everything you need to make your home from home stay comfortable, relaxing and stress-free. There's wi-fi and cosy underfloor heating throughout and a wood-burner in the lounge. Facilities include a dishwasher, a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer and the very spacious lounge has a TV, music and DVD player as well as a sofa bed which sleeps 2 kids or 1 adult very comfortably. Bedrooms have handmade wrought iron beds, quality bed-linen, televisions and hairdryers. There are 2 en-suite bathrooms, one with a bath with shower over and the other a large walk-in shower. Towels and toiletries are provided. We typically accept up to 2 well-behaved dogs for which an additional charge of £20 applies. We are set in over 4 acres of land and have a small herd of alpacas and a flock of chickens in the paddocks. Guests are welcome to meet them, give them a cuddle and breakfast and perhaps come with us when we take them for a walk weather permitting. We are surrounded by a network of pathways offering lots of great walks and guests can stroll into the village to visit the award-winning Dabbling Duck gastro-pub in the local village. The Dairy is particularly suited for those who are less mobile - there are no steps or stairs inside the cottage, it has wide hallways and there is a large walk-in shower in the twin room. Guest access Your own private space outside The Dairy and shared use of the dog exercise paddock and pathways around the 4+ acre grounds. Other things to note Our cottages are available for either a 3 night stay (Fri to Monday) from October to May (excluding Christmas) or a 7 night stay June to September with a Friday changeover. If you wish to stay for 4 nights Monday to Friday in the short break season send us an enquiry and assuming we have availability we can offer that for the same price as a 3 day weekend break. We can also offer 7 night stays commencing on a Friday throughout the year - again please send an enquiry. We love dogs and well-behaved ones are very welcome in our self-catering cottages - do be aware that whilst we clean our cottages scrupulously after each visit, if you have a dog allergy then this may not be the right place for you.
