Mill Road Farmhouse: Restored with Beautiful Pool.
The Mill Road Farmhouse is a destination in and of itself. Immaculately restored inside and out, this home is a true retreat in the middle of Amish Country. We have a feeling you will be spending all of your time relaxing by pool and hot tub during the warmer months (or maybe grilling up a feast in the brand new outdoor kitchen area) and curled up next to one of the four indoor fireplaces during the winter months. And then of course end each day star-gazing while sitting around the campfire. The space If the 2500 square foot flagstone patio area complete with a pool (can be heated *in season* for an extra charge), hot tub, lounge chairs, outdoor kitchen, propane fire pit, and outdoor sofa isn’t reason enough to book this house instantly we think you’ll be instantly hooked as soon as you see the interior spaces. (Please note at the end where the opening dates for the pool and hot tub are listed). You’ll entered into the kitchen which has been completely redone to add modern amenities and appliances without sacrificing any of the charm. There’s a beautiful butcher block island with seating for three, the cabinets are fully stocked for any meals you plan to prepare during your stay, and since we know you will all ask- the coffee maker is a Keurig. ;) (It’s a fair question- we know how important it is to bring the right coffee to vacation.) The refrigerator and stove are replicas of the old style appliances but actually super functional and modern. However because this style of fridge doesn't include a built in ice maker we've added a counter version for you. Off of the kitchen you’ll find the dining room with the most exquisite wall paper we’ve ever seen. There is seating for eight and a beautiful antique buffet and china cabinet. All of the antiques in the home were carefully collected by the owner of the home over the past several years. The living room is next to the dining room and is furnished with a propane fireplace, a plush sectional sofa, and a Smart TV so you can log into all of your favorite streaming apps. Additionally on the first floor there’s the laundry and a small full bathroom. The entrance to the outdoor patio is through this hallway. Upstairs there are three bedrooms- each with a queen bed. When you reach the top of the stairs there’s a small landing with three steps to the right and to the left. If you take the stairs to the left you’ll walk into the blue bedroom with it’s own bathroom and small sitting area. The bathroom has a tile shower and the bedroom has a propane fireplace, Smart TV and comfy window seat. If you turn right at the landing you’ll find what we lovingly call the sun room- a beautiful space with lots of natural light and real plants. There’s a French door to a balcony overlooking the patio area- the PERFECT place for your morning coffee. In the sun room there are two twin pull out beds which also makes it a great room for kids to sleep. (Please note that there isn’t a door between this room and the stairs so you may want to bring a child safety gate if you’re planning to have small children sleep here). Directly off of this room is the master suite as well as the third bedroom. We like all of the bedrooms (a lot), but the master suite is our favorite! There’s a propane fireplace in the bedroom AND the en suite bathroom, a soaking tub, tile shower, more beautiful wallpaper, and spacious closet. The third room has an en suite bathroom with a tub/shower, large walk in closet, a Smart TV, and queen bed. This room also connects to the second (very cozy) sitting area with and small second kitchen on the first floor so it’s really like it’s own little suite with in the home. The only other way to access those two rooms is from an exterior patio door. (Please note again this room has open stairs- you’re welcome to bring a child safety gate if you plan to have small children sleep here.) We also have a pack and play (located in the third room closet) and pool towels are provided. A few things we need to mention: -We added a fence around the pool area since the photos were taken. -We have since added an independent hot tub and that will be open year round. The spa (which is connected to the pool) will now run as an extension of the pool and will be the same temperature as the pool. We are happy to heat the pool for you during the months it is open- there is a one time $150 fee and advance notice is needed. -You are required to fill out our liability waiver prior to your stay- this is standard procedure for any home with a pool. -We supply three rolls of toilet paper per bathroom for your stay and one roll of paper towels per kitchen. -The pool is open from Memorial Day to September 23rd each summer. Other things to note The pool is closed over winter months. Please read description for exact dates. By booking this home you acknowledge that you have read and agree to our house rules. You agree to assume all liability in relation to the property during your stay- including, but not limited to, the pool, hot tub, and outdoor areas; and you will never allow children to be unattended in the outdoor spaces. You acknowledge that children and people with a history of high/low blood pressure, or serious cardiac issues will exercise caution when using the hot tub and will do so at their own risk.
