Products of this nature corrode the pipes and can cause pinhole leaks. Always call a licensed plumber with high-rise plumbing experience to snake the pipes and clear out the lines. HOW TO SAVE YOUR DRAINS (AND EVERYONE ELSE’S) Step 1: Throw away as much food scraps as possible into the trash can. Step 2: Use paper towels to wipe greasy dishes before dishwashing. Step 3: Use sink strainers to catch food waste during washing. Step 4: Pour fats, oils, and grease into a container and store in the freezer, then put it into the trash after it has hardened. Step 5: After using the garbage disposal run scorching hot water for at least 30 seconds to fully lubricate the drain. If you experience an active back-up, call a plumber immediately.
