The Bay Outhouse at the end of the Coast to Coast

In the heart of Robin Hood’s Bay, a hundred yards or so from the beach, yet quiet, peaceful and private. The Outhouse is a space for walkers, ramblers, adventurers and fossil seekers - a cosy cabin with two single beds (think of The Outhouse as indoor camping). There's a shower, basin & toilet, lighting, heating, wi-fi and power to charge your devices. There's a kettle, two mugs and fresh drinking water. We're sorry but we can't accommodate pets. The space The Outhouse is open from March through to October every year. It’s a cost-effective option for anyone wishing to visit Robin Hood's Bay. The Outhouse is next door to where we live, and is accessed through our little garden. It's self-contained with two single beds and storage beneath for boots and rucksacks - please enjoy the books on the shelf up above. There is space to hang your coats (and hooks to dry them over the shower). Wooden shutters keep the space private and (mostly) dark at night. The bathroom is accessed from the main room, with a compact shower, basin and toilet. Please note that The Outhouse is strictly no smoking or vaping (including e-cigarettes). Stove cooking, candles or naked flames are not allowed. The Outhouse is compliant with fire safety legislation. Guest access Our guests will have sole use of The Outhouse during their stay and are welcome to share the garden space with us too. You may find us watering the plants or drying the washing - and the cat will no doubt wander across your path at some point (but don't worry, he's often busy and on the way to somewhere else). Please remember that space is at a premium, and access to The Outhouse is on foot, so it's best to bring a rucksack or carry bags and pack only what you really need! The Outhouse has certain features that may make it more difficult for some people, for example people with specific disabilities or vulnerable people. Other things to note You'll certainly need to bring along: Sleeping bags and pillows; Towels and toiletries.
