Dhow Blue is a beach house with incredible views over the Indian Ocean. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen and 1 bathroom. It can accommodate up to 6 people, when we transform the living room into a bedroom. The rooms have AC and fans and one fan in the living room. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and oven, a fridge with a freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, mixer, water filter (8L), kettle and Delta expresso-coffee machine, among other accessories. Outside there is a grill. The space Life in this house takes place from the door out, as the balcony, spacious and comfortable, has all the conditions to enjoy your meals and rest on the sofa bed in front of the sea. The private garden, lawned and shaded by coconut trees, with outdoor furniture and areas to relax, offers you the right place to socialize and take refuge from the sun, after having taken a good dip in the sea and washed off the salt in the fresh water shower. The stay includes bed linen, bath towels, sun umbrella, beach towels and chair backrests for the beach, various games, books in several languages and limited internet. For your safety and care, we have a safe (with key) in each room, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and a first aid kit. Upon request, and upon payment, we provide wine (red and white) and coffee capsules and extra megabytes. We can also help you find/organize fish and seafood, massages, manicures, pedicures, phone credit, transfers, safaris, etc. Raquel is the housekeeper at Dhow Blue. Responsible, friendly and available, she works from Monday to Saturday, and she is the one who will provide you with a warm and comfortable experience. Tidying up and cleaning the house, as well as taking care of the clothes, are up to her. You can also ask her to prepare a typical Mozambican dish. Manuel is the maintenance man (our Macgyver) and speaks Portuguese and English. Any unforeseen event or problem with the house, from Monday to Sunday, Manuel is available to help. João has already a few years of experience as a guard and is responsible for the security of the house. You can sleep rest and be assured that he will be close at night. Here, the idea is to live barefoot and to spend the days relaxing with the sound of the sea waves. If your style is more geared towards sports, surfing, kite surfing and diving are just a step away from you. Within a small walking distance is the local market with fresh fruit, vegetables and seafood, supermarket, bottle store, restaurants and bars. Other things to note The Dhow Blue house is in Praia do Tofo, in the province of Inhambane, in Mozambique. The house is really on the beach, with the sea 30m away, in a bay protected from the wind, being the only beach in the region guarded by lifeguards. The village of Tofo is a tropical paradise, with kilometers of deserted beaches, surrounded by palm trees, coconut trees and flowering trees, where the water temperature varies from 20°C in the winter to 30°C in the summer months. It is world-renowned for diving, as the Indian Ocean, in this particular area, due to the sea current of the Agulhas, offers a unique marine life, where we can have close encounters, throughout the year, with dolphins, manta rays and sharks whale. Between May and October, many humpback whales migrate along the coast and love to get very close to the beach, providing great shows, very characteristic of these giants of the depths. The waters around Tofo are full of biodiversity and offer a dazzling variety of corals that can be admired through snorkeling and diving. There are 4 dive centers in Tofo, all easily accessible walking (Diversity Scuba, Peri-Peri Divers, Liquid Dive Adventures and Tofo Scuba), as well as other companies that offer a wide range of experiences combining different options of diving, safaris, surfing and culture, such as Mozambique Experience and Mabeco Tours. The surf wave also passes through here, as we have great beaches for beginners, in Tofo, as well as for experienced surfers, in Tofinho. The best swell direction is from the southeast, while the wind is from the southwest, favoring the famous rights. In the village you can find some surf shops (Tofo Surf Company and The Surf Shack) and a local surf association (Tofo Boardriders de Moçambique) that co-organizes the surf championship (Tofo Surf Series), with several events throughout the year and promotes surf lessons for children from the community, who, every day of the week, line up on the beach straight into the sea, forming a unique 'photograph'. It shouldn't take long for these waves to be even more famous, as even CNN is already “surfing” around here. Practice kitesurfing with the support of the Kitesurf Tofo school, ride a horse along the beach with Cavalheiros do Tofo, rent a bike at the surf shop and go discover the village, receive a massage on the beach by Vanda, right outside the Dhow Blue, taking a yoga class in front of the sea, with 13XOYoga, being lucky enough to take a spiritual retreat or a music and dance festival, or simply relaxing under a coconut tree drinking coconut water, are pleasures that you can enjoy in this place. Tofo has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a local market with fresh fruit and vegetables, some arts and crafts shops, such as Dhatonga, Libumba, Meraki and Quitsungo, which combine traditionally made pieces with contemporary design, typical Mozambican and international food restaurants, where you can find high quality options – Sumi, Maracujá, Tofo Tofo, What U Want, Branko's, among others - , a brand of delicious homemade ice cream, Zhizha, and another one that makes wonderful artisanal breads, Crumb. The village has a small but busy nightlife, with quality bands and DJs acting in spaces that invite you to dance with your feet in the sand. Walks to Praia da Barra to watch the sunset, walking among the mangroves and enjoy a meal on the beach at the Green Turtle, tasting the wood-oven pizzas overlooking the bay at Mafu Haus, diving into the Tofinho's natural pools, at Backdoor Beach, spending the day at Praia da Rocha and go for sandboarding from the top of the dune, visiting the Boa Gente coconut oil factory, taking a guided tour of the Mutamba-Indundo community, discovering the mud from the region and taking the brick route, spending the day in the historic city of Inhambane or taking a boat to the paradise of Linga-Linga are also some activities that we recommend you to do.
