Schoolhouse Vintage Home on the Farm
Like stepping into your grandma's home, this cozy little house has been designed to hug every visitor. Warm, inviting, lined with wood milled on the property circa 1940, this quaint but spacious little house is perfect for romantic weekend getaways or down-to-business quiet workspace. Writing a novel? Need some r&r? Me-time? A place to breathe deeply, enjoy a quiet country retreat & pretend to live the farm life--all while being just a short drive from Downtown Greensboro? This is your answer. The space Built in the 40's, this 900 sqft home is quaint, but well stocked. The old farmhouse sink, fridge & oven are all in great working condition. Furnished with vintage or antique furniture, stocked with nostalgic dinnerware and --it's like stepping back into a simpler time. Refurbished to reveal the rough sawn lumber from the surrounding land all those decades ago, the vaulted ceiling makes the space feel open, but warm. Enjoy sleeping in the loft (steep steps to loft) just under the window and wake to the sound of the farm animals. Watch the sunset from the front porch while drinking a delicious coffee, and sit cozily reading a book in grannie's favorite upholstered club chairs. Pack some wine, cheese, purchase a regenerative grassfed steak from the freezer, snag a bag of pancaked mix from the in-house shop and enjoy the quietest, quaintest getaway you've had in a long time. Ignore the wifi and embrace the quiet. Less than 5 minutes away we have Hagan Stone Park. It has miles of trails for hiking and biking, a large lake, and some ponds for fishing and kayaking. Guest access The entire listing and surrounding grounds up to the fences are available for your use. Please stay out of the shed, and respect the fences and animals, and the storage room. Enjoy the picnic blankets, porches, plan to use the wood-fired pizza oven, enjoy a campfire, play a game of ring toss on the back porch, sit in the rockers on the front porch. If you'd like to have a tour of the farmstead, please check out the experience add-ons. We are a permaculture homestead--we love teaching and guiding folks in hopes of inspiring ways of incorporating more natural systems in their own lives. We can take you on guided plant/foraging walks, spend time teaching you about grass-fed regenerative grazing or discuss pastured poultry. Other things to note Want a place to host an event? We love helping you host your baby showers, celebrations, and more...send us a message and we'll help you get a plan. We have events with over 100 people at the property to smaller events with just a few. Take the worry out of the logistics and let us help you have an amazing time.
