Welcome to "Church Des Artistes" ! We are an artist composer couple who converted a 1800's church into spacious and unique 10 beds-5 bedroom 5 bathroom retreat . The Great Hall is a wonderful room boasting a 16 foot harvest table, a gas fired fireplace, comfortable couches and a Steinway Grand . The courtyard garden is private with walls of ivy and wisteria, bluestone paving, flowers, herbs in pots and an apple tree, plus a small water feature. The space The entire church living space is available for whole private bookings. The church has a 'great room' with soaring 24" ceilings, a balcony, a Steinway grand piano, comfortable chairs and couches to relax in and turbo speed wireless broadband signal throughout the building. There are five beautiful bedrooms and five bathrooms plus a Dutch sleeping cupboard and 2 daybeds in the great hall. The church sleeps 12 10 beds in total- The Abbey room, queen bed / The Library room, queen bed / The Chapel room, queen bed plus single bed / The Des Artistes room, queen bed / The Portrait room, double bed loft bed and a single bed/ The Dutch cupboard, single bed. Please note the five full bathrooms are all on the first floor. 4 bathrooms have large claw-foot tubs . The kitchen is the original church kitchen boasting a 8 burner cast iron stove, plus a smaller 4 burner gas & convection oven, antique pine cupboards and a large farm table. When the weather is fine we recommend eating outside in the private courtyard garden, there is a large teak table and chairs available for dinning outside. The Church is located in a designated historic district called the 'Rondout' in Kingston NY. and is close to the Rondout river and the Hudson river. Nearby and walkable are restaurants, cafes, galleries, antique shops, marinas and parks . Kingston is loaded with history and has a bustling art, music, culinary, theater, shopping scene with rail trails and parks and dozens of festivals including The O + Festival, The Kingston Arts Annual, The OMG Art Farie, The Field and Design show. The Empire State trail is close by beginning at the Hutton Brickyards . Kingston's farmers market runs every Saturday and Sunday. We provide towels and linens. The washer and dryer are available for use. Guest access Full access to the church kitchen, fantastic for chefs with an 8 burner cast iron gas range plus a second 4 burner gas stove + outdoor bbq. Also use of the Great Hall and all 5 bathrooms. Other things to note Covid compliance protection: Our cleaning team disinfects all surfaces in all the rooms before and after each rental. For the protection of our team we ask our guests upon checkout to strip their bedding and leave used towels and bedding in the giant tub in the laundry room, empty all room and kitchen refuse into the bins outside and leave all used dishes in the dishwasher.
