The Willows, Cook St Village, Fairfield - Perfect!

Private bedroom & bathroom with own access in beautiful historical family home in sought-after Fairfield, just a 5 minute walk from the amenities of popular Cook Street Village, and a 25 minute stroll from downtown Victoria. You'll have your own private corner on the ground floor of our house comprising a cozy bedroom with its own entrance from the garden, en suite shower room, breakfast nook and a table for eating or working. Licenced with the City of Victoria (licence no. 00037273) The space The bright bedroom (15 x 11.5 ft; 4.5 x 3.5 m) with en suite bathroom and glass double doors opens onto small deck overlooks a lush, well kept garden (the garden is shared with us). Access to the room is via 10 steps up to the deck. The room has a Nespresso machine, mini-fridge, kettle, small dining table, and plates and basic cutlery. We recommend walking 5 minutes to the popular Cook Street Village shopping precinct, which has a variety of independent stores and restaurants. These includes two excellent locally owned supermarkets (one of which is exclusively organic), a pub with great food, several coffee shops (including Starbucks), food trucks and wood fired Neapolitan pizza (wood fired), Japanese, Greek, Korean fried chicken, and Mexican restaurants (most of which do takeout). There is also an amazing donut store. When weather permits you can laze on a hammock under our ancient willow tree, eat outside on your deck or in the garden, and BBQ using our gas grill. If you walk south from the house you will be at the coast in less than 10 minutes, if you walk east you will be at Moss Rock in 5 minutes, we are very close to the number 7 bus stop, the Moss St Market is 5 minutes walk away..... it really is a great place to be. Downtown is an easy and pleasant 20-25 minute walk away. Guest access Private bedroom, private bathroom, private deck, shared garden, free parking (street). Other things to note There is no TV in the room, as we do not have a cable service and we anticipate that most guests will prefer to access their favourite streaming services via their phones or tablets. There is high speed internet with a strong WiFi signal in the room. There are no kitchen facilities in the room; the mini fridge, Nespresso machine and kettle are for your convenience. Washing up is in the sink in the bathroom (detergent etc. provided). We provide one Nespresso pod (original style) per guest per day. You are welcome to bring your own or buy more from us. This is a family home built over 100 years ago, so unfortunately we cannot promise you will not hear noises from other parts of the house. That said, we do our best to keep noise to a minimum, and there are two doors between the rental bedroom and the rest of the house. It is generally quiet between 8pm and 6.30am. Many of our reviews date from before the Covid-19 pandemic; to increase separation between ourselves and our guests, we have changed our set-up. Please rely on the description of the room in the listing, not in the reviews. Guests no longer have access to the main kitchen in the house, or a claw foot (roll-top) bath.
