Ideally located in mid-Cornwall, with Heligan, Eden and over 30 beaches within a 20-30 min drive. The space The central part of a large country property, this grand and well-equipped dog-friendly house sits in beautiful gardens. Inhabited over the years by a succession of artists and now a family home, the property feels like stepping into a magical world. With over 3000 square feet of space you definitely won't feel crowded! There are 5 bedrooms (4 double & 1 single) and 4 bathrooms including a master en-suite, and 3 large living/dining areas on the ground floor. Downstairs, you enter into a large well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room with farmhouse table and beautiful view onto an enchanting garden. Leading on from this is the 'Aga room' – an incredible, glass-roofed space with an amazing ceramic mural by Cornish artist Penny Macbeth. There is a second dining table here, and the room can seat 14 or 15 people for 'banquet' style dining. There is also an enormous 'drawing room' – once the grand entrance hall of the house, this room is 35 ft long with 11ft ceilings. It has sofas and a log burner and houses our collection of pianos/organs, and is a lovely social space. This leads out onto a large sunny terrace and long mature garden with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. There's a duel-fuel BBQ here for your use. At the end of the garden is play equipment for the children. Upstairs on the first floor we have a beautiful and grand master bedroom, with kingsize bed, balcony overlooking the garden and a spacious & modern en suite. On this floor there is also a double bedroom with bunk beds and a single bedroom, and a toilet/shower room. On the top floor there are a further 2 double bedrooms with kingsize beds, one with small kitchenette (with fridge, microwave, kettle) and another bathroom. The large 4th bathroom is on the ground floor and continues the ceramic mosaic. There's a big utility room with washer, dryer, sink and an extra freezer – a great place to dump the beach bag when you come in! There are plenty of books, toys and boardgames for your use, plus TV with Netflix etc in the drawing room. There's good wifi on all floors. This is a dog friendly house (please note, the garden is fenced but determined canine escape artists would need supervising, especially as there is livestock in adjacent fields). Guest access You will have access to the entire property, apart from the workshop and basement. Other things to note This is our family home. It's a really unique and we hope you will agree, special and beautiful place. We are slowly modernising and improving areas of it, but it is comfortable, clean and has everything you need to have a wonderful relaxing holiday. The kitchen, though a little dated, has everything you need to cook for a large group, and we will leave herbs/spices/store cupboard essentials – please just replace anything you finish.
