Need a weekend away with your spouse, your entire family or friends. Newly remodeled in 2020, 2 BR home located in the historic Mississippi River town of De Soto, WI. The home is 26 miles from La Crosse, WI. A convenient place to stay while enjoying local attractions/events or spending time on the river. Enjoy fishing from personal dock, boating and a evenings by the campfire. NEAR train tracks. It goes by often DAY and NIGHT. You can’t see it from cabin but you can hear the horn and rumbling. The space Our cabin is approximately 1,900 sq ft. With a large kitchen and dining room. 2 bedrooms off the dining room. The living room is very large with a lot of natural light that comes in. Outside the cabin has a great view of the Mississippi River. Their is a patio table with 6 chairs. Also on the patio is a gas grill. A short walk from the patio is a fire pit with split wood provided. Around the fire pit is 4 yard chairs. Guest access Guest have access to the whole place. A large driveway that 3 to 4 cars can fit in. You can also park a boat trailer along side the garage. The cabin in located just north of De Soto Wi off of Hwy 35. A short drive south is Lansing Iowa. Their is a state park just south of the cabin called Blackhawk Park. Great park to fish off the shoreline. Their is a beach as well for swimming and a playground for kids. Great for riding bikes if you bring them along during your stay. Other things to note Murphy bed (looks like a cabinet) turns into a queen size bed. sleeps 2 comfortable. When you come down the gravel road to arrive at the cabin you will go over some railroad tracks. You can’t see the tracks from the cabin but you can certainly hear the train when it goes by, (aka the horn). If you are a light sleeper you might want to pack accordingly with some ear plugs because the trains do pass by frequently during the day and night. Also, the cabin is right on the Mississippi and once the sun goes down the Mosquitoes will play. Bug spray would also be a good idea. You won’t need it during the day. But if you plan to be outside after dark it can get a little buggy. Dock is out end of October and usually put back in late May. Allowing dogs 2 max, please pick up after your fur babies when they poop outside.
