Whether you enjoy getting out on the river, slopes, trails, or lake, or simply kicking back by the pool or in the hot tub with a book- The Whio Retreat has something for everyone. The space The Whio Retreat is a 4-bedroom, 3.5 bathroom private residence with room to sleep parties up to 8 people + your furry companion. An extensively renovated 1970's home that has been lovingly restored to keep in line with it's era. Relax in the two fireplace-lit living rooms, enjoy a game on the pool table, cook up a storm in the large, fully equipped kitchen and barbeque, or soak up some rays by the private pool or in the spa pool. We have tried to equip our space with everything to give you an unforgettable and comfortable experience. From complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms, to ultra-fast fibre broadband available through the house. Each bedroom has a closet and mirror to hang your things, comfortable beds and extra blankets + USB ported multiboards. Our laundry is equipped to wash clean and dry your outdoor gear with a special wader/ski gear drying closet, washer and dryer, ironing board and dedicated side entrance. We want you to be able to bring the family pooch with you, so we've provided a pet bed and bowls for their comfort. There is a fenced and locked garden area at the back of the property if you'd like to give them a dedicated space. The outdoor space is perfectly catered to enjoy- with a large jacuzzi and pool available year-round, a stone outdoor fireplace, a BBQ grill with tools, and a 6-seater outdoor table. Grab the bean bags and a drink and kick back! Guest access You have access to almost the entire property with the exception of the garage, and a few rooms adjacent to the laundry. As we stay quite often, we have kept our personal belonging to these rooms + the cleaner's only cupboard. Thanks for your understanding. Other things to note The house has been extensively renovated to highlight the beautiful 70's era style in which is hails from, with modernised amenities. If you are looking to stay in a charming mid-modern style home tucked away in rural Turangi, this is the place for you! This area boasts great outdoor activities and views, and being nestled right next to dense bush and a river adds to the charm of the property; please keep in mind that this comes with lots of birds, possums (despite our efforts) and flying insects such as flies and mosquitoes are in abundance in the area. If you are bringing young children or small pets please see listing details about stairs and fencing on the property. Temporary note: the direct backyard trail to the river trail is currently closed as a 30m tree has fallen across the path. Access to the river trail is one property over on the street :)
