Please read the entire listing before booking. This peaceful cabin is located in the Gila National Forest. You can walk or take a short drive to Gomez Peak, Little Walnut trail system or the CD trail. It’s also an easy drive to other area attractions. This tranquil getaway is perfect for hikers, mountain bikers, bird watchers or anyone looking for a relaxing escape with cool weather, wildlife and starry nights. It is a short drive to downtown Silver City. The cabin has a wonderful outdoor space. There is a propane grill where you can cook some juicy steaks for dinner and a lovely patio to enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine as the sun sets. You may even be visited by wildlife. Inside you will find a spacious, recently remodeled bathroom, and a well equipped kitchenette. There is a small refrigerator, Keurig, toaster oven , a single burner and microwave. Pots and pans, dishes and utensils are provided. The full bed is cozy and complimented with soft sheets and pillows. The living area has two oversized armchairs. An air mattress is provided for an additional sleeping space if needed. Heating and a/c is provided by a split system controlled by a remote. There is also a wood burning stove to provide a warm, cozy ambiance on a cold New Mexico night. The large window is a serene place to enjoy the picturesque forest. Guests have access to the cabin and outdoor patio area. We live on this 12 acre property along with our cats, dogs, goats, chickens and horses. We value our privacy as much as our guests do. The cabin is walking or driving distance to many hiking and biking trails including the continental divide trail. We are centrally located to many attractions such as the City of Rocks and the Cliff Dwellings. Please note, we are located on a bumpy, dirt road. Trailheads are walking distance from the cabin (about two miles) and downtown silver city is a short 10 miles away. This is a property tucked within the Gila National Forest. WiFi and cell service can be spotty at times. The kitchenette has a mini fridge, toaster oven, coffee pot, microwave and hot plate. There is no oven. Firewood is available for the wood stove. Additional supplies for using the wood stove (paper , fire starter … are not provided). Cell phone/data coverage is good here but it is definitely a place to “unplug”. WiFi can be spotty at times so I can’t guarantee it. We are on a dirt road. The driveway is steep and bumpy. 4 wheel or all wheel is helpful but not necessary. I highly recommend checking in before sunset. The property is difficult to find after dark. Please carefully follow the directions I have provided to the the property. As it states in the house rules, children under 12 and pets are not allowed. The maximum number of guests allowed is 2 people.
