Description
Dykes cottage is just outside the village of Gilcrux, near Cockermouth, situated between the Solway coast & Lake District park. Ideal for walkers & pet owners with 2 dog friendly pubs within walking distance. The cottage is part of a barn conversion with 5 other cottages which accommodate 1 couple each. It features an open fire, steam cubicle and four poster bed. Guests can privately hire the hydro therapy hot tub (Please see other details to note for information on booking the hot tub) The space Dykes cottage is part of a barn/stables conversion at Ellen hall exclusively for couples. The open plan living area has an open fire, fully fitted kitchen, free view TV and a large dining area . The bedroom has a four poster bed with second TV and is on a mezzanine floor. The bathroom is downstairs and has an overhead power shower and the bath cubicle converts into a steam room with 2 fold down seats. Guest access There is a large communal garden with a beck running through the centre. There a few seating areas scattered around and the cottage has it's own exclusive patio set just out side the cottage. Other things to note Bookings of 3 nights or longer could give you a better nightly rate, depending on time of year. Short breaks during the peak season are at our discretion so may not be available, please enquire before booking. There is a large hydro therapy hot tub on site which is situated in it's own log cabin next to the beck that runs through the grounds. Guests can privately hire it during their stay at a cost of £15 for a 45 minute session, last one being at 19.00. Please note that it is not available for hire on Sundays. If you would like to book a session on the day of arrival please call prior to your booking for information on how to do this. Please note that because the hot tub is not included in the price of the listing if we have to off hire it due to planned or unplanned maintenance your booking will not be eligible for a refund. Secondary heating and electricity for cooking and hot water is by £1 coin metre, average use is about 3/4 per day. We can provide fuel for the fire if you chose to use it. A load to last about two nights costs £15.
