Charming half-timbered duplex - Historic Center

Renovated apartment on the 2nd floor without elevator, in the heart of the historic center of Orleans. Its half-timbered walls and cozy atmosphere offer a warm setting a stone's throw from the Cathedral. Restaurants just downstairs, tram 3 minutes away and Place de Loire and Cathedral parking lots about 200 m (pedestrian street). A small cocoon ideal for enjoying the city with peace of mind. The space The 40 m² living room offers a bright and friendly space, with a sofa bed, a hanging armchair to relax, a fully equipped kitchen and a separate toilet. The fireplace, purely decorative, brings an extra touch of charm. Upstairs you will find a bathroom open to the master bedroom, as well as a second bedroom consisting of a queen size bed and a single bed. A second toilet is also available for extra comfort. A travel cot can be provided for the little ones. And a little clarification: please do not reveal the surprise of the apartment in order to preserve it for the next guests! ✨ Guest access You will have access to the accommodation independently with a key box located on the street. After picking up the key, all you have to do is go up to the 2nd floor via a period staircase, which contributes to the charm of the building. The duplex is entirely reserved for you: you will have access to all spaces and amenities during your stay. Other things to note The accommodation is located on the 2nd floor of an old building, without elevator. Access is via a period staircase, which may be less suitable for the elderly or those with reduced mobility. Please note that there is no space to leave a pushchair in the entrance of the building: it will therefore be necessary to take it up and down with you. But don't worry... the view and the charm of the duplex are well worth a few steps! � Important information regarding the thermal comfort of the accommodation We have just completed the full renovation of the building's façade and have completely redone the roof. Unfortunately, due to the constraints of the Local Urban Plan for the historic centre, several solutions that would have improved the comfort of the accommodation were denied to us. In particular, we were not allowed to keep or recreate the exterior half-timbering, nor to install external thermal insulation, which is particularly effective in limiting high temperatures in summer and heat loss in winter. Similarly, the external shutters, which provided excellent protection from the sun and also helped to reduce noise pollution, could not be installed in order to comply with the architectural requirements of the historic area. We do our utmost to provide pleasant and comfortable accommodation, but unfortunately, certain regulatory constraints are beyond our control. During a heatwave, as in many old buildings in the historic centre, the temperature can therefore be higher than usual. We are doing our utmost to limit this inconvenience and thank our guests for their understanding.
