The space Roaring Brook Pines is a modern Catskills chalet designed for unplugging and enjoying the simple pleasures of mountain living. The Basics: - open plan kitchen/living space - primary bedroom: king bed & sitting area, giant picture window - second bedroom upstairs: two twin beds & comfy reading chair - downstairs bedroom: queen bed & cozy office space - all bedrooms have large windows looking into the forest - 2 bathrooms, washer & dryer - full kitchen stocked with essentials for cooking and baking There's lots to do in the nearby area and some great day trips, but you can also have a great time staying on the property. Vibe 1 (outdoors): - Savor your morning coffee from a rocking chair on the porch - Walk the property or the private road to ID the local foliage - Relax in the hammock or swing, or play an array of outdoor games - Gather for cocktail hour by the chiminea - Grill fresh trout and dine al fresco (table for 6) - Stay up late telling stories by the campfire Vibe 2 (indoors): - Observe forest life from the giant picture window in the primary bedroom (you might spot a deer or two) - Get competitive with a range of indoor games and puzzles - Cozy up by the wood-burning stove (fireplace) - Spin an eclectic mix of records while prepping dinner in the well-equipped kitchen - Watch a movie on the 55" Frame TV with Sonos soundsystem - Stargaze from bed — there's a skylight in the primary bedroom where a shooting star or two has been seen Guest access Guests have full access to the house and all outdoor spaces. Guests may hike the property at their own risk—there are no trodden trails, and there are wild animals. Guests may park in the detached garage, but the rest of that detached space is not guest-ready. In the house, there are two closets upstairs that are locked and off-limits to guests. Other things to note Roaring Brook Pines is in the woods—like, really in the woods. There are wild animals and bugs. The roads are well-maintained, but best traversed with 4-wheel drive at snowy times. Cell and Wifi signals on the property are very strong, but reception is hit-or-miss in the surrounding areas. The house's water comes from a well on the property—super fresh & safe to drink from the tap—but the water heater makes some noise when it's in use.
