Getting down to the water from our place is not for the faint of heart - it's 108 steps, including a 58 step spiral staircase (see photos), but YOU CAN SEE FOR MILES from this cozy flat-top A-Frame on a cliff perched above Smith Lake AL. Or come for the view alone! We face east have a fabulous view of sunrise and moonrise throughout the year. Wonderful deck for relaxing, dining. The Queen bed is in the loft, from where you’ll have an even more expansive view. Please see photos prior to booking. This is our much-loved family lake house. When family or friends are not visiting, we are opening the A-Frame to people like you! We love having guests, but you will see very little of us (unless you need us!). We have a gorgeous view of the sunrise every morning. The sun passes over the house around noon or earlier, so our open deck is shaded in the afternoon. If we are in town, the only space you might share with us is the driveway. Great neighbors on both sides. You will have access to the deck, the swim dock, and you can use our kayaks. Sorry, no - you can’t dock your boat here. We prefer to communicate via the AirBnB app, so please download the app to your smartphone. We will also provide phone numbers the day of check-in so that you can text or call. We love walking our hilly neighborhood road and admiring the waterfront homes. There are a few friendly neighborhood dogs that may take and interest in you, but all are completely harmless. No one from across Rock Creek can see into our place without binoculars. Our road is driveable and enjoyably walkable, but you will need to drive slowly to watch out for potholes and deer. There is absolutely no public transportation or Uber/Lift rides available out here in the country. Please be especially wary of wildlife just before you turn onto our road from Wilson Bend as that seems to be a popular crossing for our deer friends. TWO ADULT GUESTS ONLY. No pets allowed at the property. Please don't ask. The A-Frame is located on a quiet county road that makes a loop off of a busier (but not all that busy, really... the trucks just travel faster) county road. Our road is great for walking/hiking as there are a lot of shade trees and you may even see a deer or two! Or one of our local foxes! Because we are so remote, we are far away from any restaurants or grocery stores. There is a Dollar General and a small family-owned grocery store/gas station in Arley, about 20 minutes away. There's also a Mexican restaurant in Arley and a very popular coffee shop/diner. Please note that WINSTON COUNTY IS DRY. If you are so inclined, please BYOB for your entire trip from a larger town. Cullman and Jasper are 45-minute drives away and both offer nice grocery-shopping and dining options. We do not have a dishwasher.
