Sir Buta Singh, who was from a family of the “Chiefs of Punjab” and was a member of the Council of States. The space It was used by him as his summer residence in the days when Shimla was the Summer Capital of India and the property remains with the family to date. Step inside and walk into the charming living space which will give you a feeling of living in erstwhile luxury. With plush French windows and antique furniture, this home truly looks like something straight out of a storybook. The Space: BEDROOMS - There are 2 spacious bedrooms - both on the ground floor of the property. - All bedrooms are equipped with a plethora of amenities including comfortable king-sized beds, Hot & Cold ACs, TVs, heaters, wardrobes, Wi-Fi access and ensuite bathrooms. - The rooms offer attached seating areas where guests can read a book while they sit back and enjoy their coffee. - Please note that there are a total of 5 bedrooms at this property. Guests have access to their 2 bedrooms only. BATHROOMS - There are 2 ensuite, modern and recently renovated bathrooms. - All bathrooms offer geysers, towels and toiletries. - Hairdryers can be made available on request. COMMON AREAS - There is a cosy and aesthetically pleasing living room on the ground floor of the property, offering comfortable seating for up to 15 people. - Decked with vintage furnishings, this lounge area is equipped with a heater, portable music system, Wi-Fi and a soothing view for guests to soak in. - The home has a quaint glass sunroom where guests can read a book or just sit back and enjoy their favourite beverages. - There is a separate dining room offering comfortable seating for up to 8 people. - The exteriors of this charming villa boast sprawling green areas with beautiful flowers that cover a vast area. - With an open deck offering panoramic views of the hills of Shimla, this villa is no less than paradise, especially for people looking for an upmarket cosy retreat in the heart of a hill station! - Please note that the common areas may be shared. KITCHEN - Guests may use the kitchen to make simple food for infants, but not for elaborate cooking. - It is equipped with a microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, water purifier, toaster and a mixer-grinder. - Crockery and cutlery are available. FOOD - All meals can be provided in-house at an additional cost on an a la carte basis. - Consumption of non-vegetarian food is allowed. - Outside food is not allowed. Guest access The guests have access to only the cottage and areas pertaining to the cottage. No access to the main villa (Rose Cottage, Opal, Bloom, Chandelier, listings space) During your stay The guests have access to only the cottage and areas pertaining to the cottage. No access to the main villa (Rose Cottage, Bloom, Chandelier, Vintage listings space) and the kitchen. The host may or may not be present at the property but is always accessible via call or message. A trained and responsible caretaker is also present at the property to resolve any concerns and help you have a perfect stay. Other things to note STAFF ACCOMMODATION We can provide accommodation for 2-3 staff members at an additional cost of Rs. 1500 per staff member, per night. Meals are included in the cost. ACTIVITIES Within the property, guests can snuggle up in the warm cosy rooms or the attractive Drawing Room, Sun Room, vast outdoor areas or play indoor games like cards and ludo, that are available at the property. Guests can take a peaceful walk by the garden decked with flora and fauna & embrace the beauty of the mountains of Shimla. They can also request for a bonfire to be lit up during the winter season. Cosy reading corners can be found in every part of the house; Rose Cottage is paradise for every book lover. For guests who love adventures or want some time to connect with nature, there are a number of interesting trails at a short driving distance around this property.
