The Blue Line Metro light rail (50th St Minnehaha stop) is 0.5 miles away (6-12min walk). This is our favorite way to get to and from the airport when traveling light It is only a 7-10min drive to and from the Airport. Despite being close to the airport, our home is NOT in the flight path. You may occasionally hear planes in the distance, but they will not be a constant bother. It is a quick 13 min drive to downtown Minneapolis and U.S. Bank Stadium on Hwy 55 or 14 mins by the Blue Line Metro light rail (6 stops to U.S. Bank Stadium). Our 3-season porch is the perfect spot to cozy up with a warm beverage or a glass of wine and a book. But please note that it is not insulated. The temperature in the porch will be similar to the outdoor temperature. It is most comfortable in the spring and fall and on summer mornings. There is plenty of street parking located in front of the house. You are welcome to also use our off-street parking space next to our garage (located through the back alley). A quirk to note: because our home was built in 1900, central heating and AC was added later. Due to some building limitations, it wasn’t practical to add a vent in the bedroom or office. Therefore, in order for those rooms to get heating and cooling, the bedroom and office doors must remain at least slightly open. The vent is right next to the bedroom door, so the room will be the same temperature as the rest of the house as long as the door isn’t fully closed for a long period of time.
