Three seater sofa, plus a 2 seater and the corner chair means that there is room for everyone. The quality and characterful decor is a real treat, with uninterrupted views over the lake. Need a smart TV, great Wi-Fi, and Netflix? Got that too! Amazing views, peace and quiet - you may be too content to pop in the car to visit the pretty local villages and towns which include historic Stamford with beautiful Burghley House. We have dogs ourselves, and they are very welcome at our holiday rental at no extra cost. There is plenty of safe outside space, including a grassed garden with screened wooden fencing and rigid screens to 5ft tall, a 40 ft wraparound verandah and spacious decking. You even have your own jetty from which to fish from it, launch a paddle board or kayak! Please ask if you wish to do this. Like to open water swim? You cannot swim in this lake, but there is OWS nearby - again, please ask for details. For your dogs there’s a warm outside shower, dog shampoo, towels. Beds & crates, bowls etc. Dogs are allowed on the furniture, please bring your own throws, plus your own bedding if your dogs will go where you go. Please note that there is a bird scarer nearby, it may go off when seed is sown in early spring, having said that, I’ve not heard it this year at all. Dogs are NOT allowed in the lake, and must be kept on leads around the site - but of course the secure private space is available for them to roam. I have 4 dogs, and can answer any questions - there is a great pet shop in Market Deeping, and a couple of secure dog fields that are excellent and well priced. Details of walks and the dog fields are in the information folder in the lodge, but you can of course contact me beforehand. Guest access Check in is after 3pm, although if it can be sooner I will message you to let you know. You are welcome to arrive on site before this time but please do not park at the lodge or ask for access as we will be busy making it perfect for your arrival. There are a few steps up to the lodge. Unfortunately it is not suitable for wheelchair users. Take a 5km walk around the lake, (dogs on lead) in a clockwise direction and you’ll have covered 2/3 of the distance by the time you reach the dog friendly Lakeside Bar, which provides a welcome stop for a drink for you and your furry family too! The hot tub is of course drained, cleaned, and refilled between guests. Please bear in mind that it may not be up to the required temperature to use straightaway especially if we have given you an early check in. Bedding & towels for 5th guest are not provided. Dogs on lead is a site rule. I live at the lake with 4 dogs, and I have provided information on the many open spaces that are a short drive away. Other things to note Please note this is not Tattershall Lakes, in fact we are over an hour away! Less than 1% of the lodges here are rentals. There is currently a bird scarer nearby, it is loud, and may go off when crop is sown in the early spring. Having said that, I have not heard it for the last 15 months. (Editing on 29/07/25). As well as the open air heated pool and water sports from April to September, there is also a challenging climbing tower and a newly surfaced ski slope for skiing and tobogganing, all bookable online on the Tallington Lakes website. The outdoor heated pool is on site and needs to be booked via Tallington Lakes as it is not part of our own amenities. It is a seasonal attraction and as such please do check directly with the site to avoid disappointment. You are most welcome to bring your own paddle boards or kayaks, please message me to find out more information about this as the site does have some requirements. Tallington Lakes is a Quarry which is about 50 years old. There are many old and large fish including carp, pike, bream, and tench, so if you fancy fishing, this is a brilliant place to come to because you have your own jetty. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the lake. Open water swimming is in a lake just 5 mins walk away, bookable online.
