A five minute walk to downtown Southwest Harbor allows you to spend time exploring local restaurants and shops on foot. The free Island Explorer bus stops in town so you can easily travel to almost anywhere on the Island hassle free! The Quietside is packed with some of Acadia National Park’s most beautiful hiking trails and views, including the famous Bass Harbor Lighthouse, as well as the gorgeous waters of Long Pond and Echo Lake, which are perfect for swimming during warm summer months. Harbor View is a mere fifteen minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor, which allows you close enough proximity to the bustling crowds, restaurants and shops there, yet a close enough distance to escape back to the quieter side away from the chaotic cruise ship population. Southwest Harbor provides its own opportunities for both private boat rentals, fishing tours on the untouched waters in the Gulf of Maine or day trips to the outer islands. The core of the house itself was built in the 1920s and retains the historic style of the era while recent additions to the space include an additional second level to seamlessly blend modern living with historic building design. The first floor consists of a kitchen with all the necessary items, a living/gathering room, as well as two bedrooms; one with a twin and a bunkbed and one with a double bed. The living room displays wonderful panoramic views of the Harbor through windows that illuminate the entire downstairs in natural light. The upstairs has another living/gathering space of its own, equipped with a TV and sleeper sofa. Two additional bedrooms finish off this lovely space and allow for optimal comfort. The views from the master are unbeatable anywhere else in the home. The sprawling deck allows for beautiful inside/outside living and offers you a close up look of the unspoiled views. Peak season is June 15 through September 15 and requires a seven night stay
